When I start my 08 Hummer H3 it'll initially start but then starts to choke then it will either kick over or die. I'm thinking it's a fuel issue with the injector or possible fuel pump or maybe even spark plugs and/or wires? Can anyone help ?
Hello Jessica Mays,
If your vehicle runs reasonably at all "other" (cold: start, idle issues) times... you can pretty well assume your plugs & fuel pump are in reasonable shape.
Did NOT find a specific pointing to any COLD START VALVES... but MOST Fuel-Injection Systems on the planet have
an auxiliary circuit (or valve) to approximate the effect
a CHOKE would perform (bring your vehicle up to operating temperature).

GM has 17 Technical Service Bulletins (One very specifically) referring to fuel & fuel injection... (read & be happy)

Use only top tier gasoline (per GM)

I tried to look up cold air valve or aux air... and only got something that looks like a "Schrader" (wrong: tire type, pressure valve)..So it appears I only know Porsche, BMW, Jaguar & Nissan... GM still eludes me... I doubt it is as serious as needing new Injectors...Available at...
(Available now at less than $20 you might want spares)...

I brought my 2006 H3 in to the dealer for the same thing. My blower stopped working all together but it started as an intermittent problem. He said he had to replaced a diode or resistor either behind the switch on the dash that controls the fan or on the fan motor itself. Have not had a problem since but that was only about 4 months ago.

I'm not 100% on this but I think it's like a lot of GM's; turn the key to the "on" position(not running), stomp the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds & the light should flash & go out.

Probably too late now, I am sure you have already fixed it, but mine did this and it was an electrical part that is mounted right beside the blower fan. The part was OK, but the plug into the part was arcing and burned out the connection. A Chevy mechanic told me this has been happening to MANY Chevy products. I had to buy a new part and plug assembly with new wires, about 100 dollars, and I spliced them together. It was an Easy fix, but I shouldn't have had to do it :(

I assume you've fixed this already given that nearly a year has passer by, but if others experience this, it may help them. Under the dashboard on the passenger side there is a Fan Blower resistor attached to a red connector with 5-7 colored wires. Its held in by two simple screws. Disconnect the connector and inspect it for any burn marks(usually the last orange wire at the end). If this is discolored go to the nearest GM dealer and by about $70 worth of parts. The blower resistor, the red harness connector and the clips that go into the connector. Job takes under an hour and would be rated at novice-intermediate. Advice: set the passenger chair back as far as possible. Remove the harness clips carefully so as not to break them. For more workspace you can easily pull out the plastic facia on the right hand side, it easily slips out from under the foot rail, do not be intimidated there are no hidden screws. There is also a relay down there; a small black box held in by one screw, you might as well change this while you're down there. A dealer may charge as much as $400 for this simple fix!
