Replaced drivers side door

Go to a junk yard. Locate the connector you want and cut the wires long enough to be able to splice onto the wires in your car. Use crimp on connectors to splice the new connector onto the wires of the connector in your car

We have a 16 year old car. The windows started having problems. We found out that the wire harness that runs to the window and door lock controls in the drivers door control panel was getting warn out. The constant opening and closing of the door over the years wears out the wires at the bend in the door hinge. We got a replacement harness from a junk yard and replaced it. Much improvement, but since we replaced it with a used part, now that is wearing out again and having problems again. Why do new replacement parts have to cost so much?

This is an easy fix and very common to civics. When I bought my car it had the same exact thing and I bought this part (plug) at the junk yard for 2.00 dollars and you can start by removing the driver side fender and you will see a black rubber that covers the plug with all the wiring that runs too the door cut the plug off and replace it with a good plug with the one your going too buy at the junk yard you can use tape or anything that wont make contact with the other wires but what sucks about it is that you need too do it one by one and just match the wire colors together and good as new hope this helps!

replace the bad connector should be able to find one in junk yard then splice th wires

look for a broken wire in the rubber boot where you open the door or try a new switch from a junk yard

Maybe, but before you do, take a look in the loom (plastic coil with wires all inside it) that runs from area of hinges across from pillar to door. Open the loom up and take a close look at the wires in there for damage, cuts, corrosion etc, that may indicate a weak spot or break in wire(s) Not uncommon for that to happen as that door is always opening and closing, and causing that condition from bending all the time.

more than likely a bad switch. If your good with a multimeter and understand the electrical system. You can bypass the switch with your multimeter wires and see if the switch is bad. or you can just purchase a used one from the junk yard, swap it out. If it works then its the switch. if thats not the problem you need to follow the wires from the switch to the locks. Its not a long path.
Also check both fuse box's one on the passanger side inside the car and one under the hood on the drivers side.

just cut the wires that move the actual mirror and then you need to put something so water does not come in to your car

I am sure this would work by just replacing the ignition switch, not the entire steering column.

However it also depends on how bad was it broken.

Is there an option to replace the window motor?  Perhaps a junk yard has one that you could pick up for pretty cheap, or AutoZone would carry it.
