My 99 Z3 2.8 keeps going to cut out when it's cold. One minute it's running fine then it goes to cut out but just manages to recover itself at the last minute any suggestions????
It runs fine when warm apart from a slight hesitation when you put your foot down !! (occasionally) could the 2 be linked ????
This used to happen to my car and it was the automatic choke not kicking in .....old cars had a pull out choke but inour days this is a thing of the past

Yes i have the same problem, And bmw told me it is a problem with the 2.8,s. That the problem is that one of the pistons misfire when cold but the computor should fix the problem when warm. I,ve tried to reset my computor to fix the problem and it helped some what !
Mind doe the same thing, the revs drop and the car stalls, i have been told its the automatic choke
