SOURCE: bad egr valve

the egr valve is located at the end of an exhaust supply pipe (1/2" diameter) from the exhaust manifold. there is also a sticker under the hood that shows this location, it is the emissions sticker.

SOURCE: Location of the pcv valve on a 96 chevy cavalier

it should be in the top of the intake manifold, the air cleaner tube goes into the throttle body and there is a little line that runs from the air cleaner tube into the pcv value and is screwed into the intake manifold.

Received P0455 Evap System Large Leak Detected - 2004 Cavalier

your problem is probably a vacuum hose that goes from the purge valve to the gas tank (crack or broken hose). There should be two of these check both. A broken vacuum line will make the purge valve make a clicking noise that can be mistaken for noisy engine valves.

I just did a code scan on my 1992 Chevy Cavalier RS 6-cylinder and the codes that came back were 32 and 33. What do they mean?

DTC - 32 EGR system failure
DTC - 33 MAP sensor circuit error (signal high indicating low vacuum)

The EGR failure is causing the DTC 33 code to show up. Check the vacuum lines to the EGR valve.

Good luck and keep me posted
