Fault Code 15

SynopsisDescription: No speed/distance sensor signal Power loss light: Off Limp-in mode: None
Possible CausesBad connector or wiring - Check the connector at the sensor and on the wiring harness near the fuel rail for corroded contacts or broken or melted wires. Check the wiring for continuity.Speed/distance sensor failure - If you have a 1992 or earlier transmission, these sensors are prone to failure. See the Hall Effect Speed/Distance Sensor Conversion page to see if you can repair this problem once and for all. The sensor is located on the transmission on top of the long casting where the right axle connects.
Diagnostic MethodTrigger Parameters
- Throttle has been closed for 7 seconds - Engine speed 768 rpm above target idle speed - Speed sensor not producing a signal

Results If Component FailsFault code 15 is stored, but there is no "limp-in" mode for this fault code and the power loss light does not turn on. Any pulses from the sensor are considered valid.

Fault Code 54

SynopsisDescription: No fuel injector sync pickup signal during engine rotation Power loss light: On Limp-in mode: Logic module will guess at injector timing
Possible Causes:Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections between the hall effect sensor (located underneath the distributer cap) and the logic module. Check the continuity of the two 3 conductor cables coming out of the sensor--these are prone to fatiguing and breaking inside the insulation where they exit the sensor if the cables are not properly tied down. You may be able to resolder them. Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease and repair any shorts.
Hall effect sensor failure - Check the two, flat 3 conductor cables coming out of the sensor. These often fatigue where they exit from the sensor. Upon replacing the sensor, make sure the cables are clipped or tied to the distributor cap shroud (or elsewhere) so they do not swing around.
Diagnostic MethodTrigger Parameters

- Engine cranking or running (signal coming from ignition reference sensor) - No signal from the fuel injector sync pickup sensorResults If Component Fails
Fault code 54 is stored. The engine will stall and will not start.

Hope helps.

I have a 1995 Isuzu Trooper and am getting the diagnostic code Flash... Flash,Flash. I believe thet means 12. Does that mean solenoid circuit failure? And if so, what do I need to do to fix my rig?

When you flash codes on a 95 trooper..it should flash code 12 pause and flash code 12 two more times...if no other codes flash it means there are no codes stored...code 12 is basically, enter codes, beginning of codes and end of codes.
I just double checked cos 95 models were I thought allrunning the obd 2systems..but production dates after the 8th month are considered next year models..so maybe yours is a late year production. I am going to send a picture and pre odb2 code 12 is a code..hope this helps!

How to do a self diagnostics code test on a Chrysler Concorde LXI 2001

put key in ignition turn key to start position then off then to start then off then start and leave on. count the check engine light flashes. the first number will be a long flash then the numbers after will be short flashes, then a pause and then the next code will flash with the first number a long flash then followed by short flashes. count the flashes. if the first flash is a single flash and the next flash is say 3 quick flashes then this is code 13. these are a 4 number code system like 1013 is the same as a code 13. I hope you understand as its difficult until you get the hang of it. Chrysler has a code at the beginning to indicate codes starting and one at the end to indicated codes ending. and will repeat the cycle 3 times. it maybe easier to get them pulled using a code reader.

Flashing codes 15,54,83

CODE 15
Trouble Code 15 indicates that the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) is reporting abnormally low readings. CTS is used to control fuel mixture, timing, idle speed, TCC and EGR operation, among others. The thermistor used has a high-resistance when cold, lowering as the coolant warms.
Code 15 will set if:
- temperature reported is < -37.30 deg F (-38.5 deg C)

Typical causes may include:
1. Open circuit in CTS-ECM harness
2. Defective Coolant Temperature Sensor
3. Open sensor ground circuit
4. Defective ECM

Trouble codes: 1,2,4

dodge codes of this era were 2 number codes not single number codes.recheck your codes flashing on the dash,or with what ever tool your using.there should be a flash close together then a short break then more flashes close together then a longer pause before the next code flashes.cont the flashes that are close together that is one number of the code then after the short pause count the next number of flashes this is the second half of the code.then a new code flashes after the long pause.so if the first code flashes once then after short pause it flashes twice this is a code 12.then a new code flashes after the longer flash, but always a 2 number code.also be aware that dodge uses a code 12 to indicate the start of the code sequence and a code 55 indicates the end of the code sequence.thats why its better to use a scan tool to see what codes are in the computer as sometimes a flash is missed or not counted.

1991 CHEVY S-10 4.3 2X2 AUTO TRANS, TRUCK RUNS GOOD BUT WHEN IT REACHES NORMAL OPERAING TEMP THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON

There is no way to tell what the light is for without scanning for trouble codes. There is a way to access the computer trouble codes without having a code reader. If you look under the driver side dash near the steering column, you will find the diagnostic port where you would plug in a scanner. If you look closely you will see that the terminals are identified as a,b,c, and d. Take a metal paper clip and straighten it out, then bend it into a u-shape. Put one end of the paper clip in terminal A, and the other end in terminal B. Now turn the ignition key to the on position, but do not start the engine. The check engine light will start flashing. This is how you will get the codes, by counting the flashes. The check engine light will flash the number 12 three times, to let you know that it's getting ready to flash a code. Let's say the computer has stored a code 32, and a code24. First, the number 12 will flash 3 times(flash-pause-flash flash). Then there will be a long pause. Then the computer will flash the first code, which, in this example, is 32(flash flash flash-pause-flash flash). It will flash the same code three times, then it will flash the number 12 again. After the third number 12 has flashed, the next code will flash, which is 24(flash flash-pause-flash flash flash flash). That code will flash 3 times. Then there will be a long pause, and the pattern will be repeated. After all the codes have been flashed, the whole sequence will be repeated, starting with the first code, and will continue as long as the paper clip is in the diagnostic plug. Write the codes down as they are flashed. If you get mixed up, just wait for the next sequence of the number 12 to flash, then start counting the flashes again. Believe me, it takes a lot longer to type all this out than it does to get the codes off teh computer. If you have any questions, let me know. When you have the codes, I can look them up for you and see what they represent.

Engine code

12 and 55. The 55 means end of code session, the 12 means no distributor reference. Both of these codes are normal with the engine not running, so do not go out and purchase a dstributor. Is there another problem with the vehicle, or did you just want to know the codes? Comment back to continue, thanks.

Fault code

There you have two codes:
1 2 or 12 = Battery recently unpluged
5 5 or 55 = End of Test.

So, you dont have malfunction codes in there, this is good.

More details can find in :
- Read Check Engine Codes
- Reset ECU Procedure

Hope help with this (remember rated this DIY and this post, an comment it).

No spark

Have you and/or, do you know how to cycle key on, off, on, off, on & retrieve trouble codes?
check engine light will flash. here's an example how to read & record them. flash, pause, flash, flash. is code 12. flash, flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, flash, flash is code 34. then there will be a little longer pause & the flashing starts again. Always a 2 digit number. 5 flashes, pause, 5 flashes, is code 55, end of message (or codes). Try doing that and lets see what codes you get.

How do i get the trouble codes off a 1989 mazda mpv?

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/3331/obdikx3.jpg

The above link is to a diagram of your ALDL connector, all you need is a paper clip, straighten out the paper clip and insert one end into the diagnostic test pin and one in the system ground pin (terminals A & B).

Then put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position but DO NOT start the engine. You will then see the check engine light flash. It will initially start by flashing once, then a pause and then flash twice and it will repeat this three times. That flash sequence indicates 12, which just means the system is operating. Its the flash sequences after that that will give you the code if any are stored.

For instance if it flashes twice, then pauses, then flashes four times, thats code 24. So any flash sequence you get after the initial 12 (flash once, pause, flash twice) you need write those down. Below is a list of diagnostic codes to tell you what the codes mean.
