SOURCE: fuel pump fuse blowing

replace the fuel pump, it is drawing to much current, this is common when the pump bearings get worn out, also make sure you replace the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank connection, it will be burnt..

1997 jeep grand Cherokee keeps blowing 20 amp fuse under the hood cranks but no start

A fuse that keeps blowing means you have a short. Inspect the wiring that goes to the fuel pump. It can also mean there that the pump is defective.

Hi,
Who installed the engine? If you did, check all the Grounds/Earths under the hood/bonnet. If the mechanic/shop did, take it back and have them fix it.

30 amp fuse/ in box under hood

The 30 amp fuse is most likely for your starter. Check that the red thick wire (could be black as well) leading to the starter and starter solenoid is properly attached and is not touching anything that would short it out and therefore blow the 30 amp fuse. The short may even be inside the starter in which case it will need to be replaced or repaired. Hope this helps.
