The headlights on my 95 YJ jeep went out. It does not seem to be a fuse. Could it be the headlight switch or is it a relay. If it is a relay where is it loacated?

SOURCE: my 92 jeep xj headlights dont work

this happens to me every once in a while...just turn the lights on, flick the brights on and off a couple of times, and your lights should be back to normal. it sounds crazy, but it works for me all the time.

SOURCE: Jeep wrangler Fuse box

i had the same problem. i drive a 95 so im not sure if it differs from were the fuse box is. look righ above you pedals to your far left. it should be right there. also if you instruments went out it will be a 15 fuse. its a blue fuse. next my panel went out cuz of the wires on my transmission. if yor looking at your jeep at the front. the wires will be on your left. make sure they are not burned or anything. it will be right on the side of your tranny. mind got burned by the exaust so they were shorting. check that is and see if that is what is it. for a temp fix just put some electrical tap around the wires and you should be set for a wile. good luck

SOURCE: Clutch adjustment 95 Jeep YJ

no, there is no clutch adjustment. the clutch is hydraulic, and self adjusting, there are several things that can go wrong with these. with normal wear the fluid can run low allowing air into the system, causing a weak peddle. they can also develop leaks in the master and slave cylinders resulting in fluid loss also causing a weak peddle leading to an inopperative clutch. check the fluid level in the clucth master cylinder(next to the brake master cylinder. if it is empty, refill it(it takes brake fluid) then cycle the clutch peddle a few times and check for leaks. if there is air trapped in the line the clutch will need to be bled. there is a bleeder screw on top of the slave cylinder, bleed it just like bleeding brakes.

2014 jeep gc passenger headlight went out changed bulb andno go changed fuse no go. Used test light no power in the slot. Help could it be a relay?

There is no "relay" per se for the headlights. The switch doesn't actually switch power to the headlights. It's only a signal to the body control module (BCM). When the BCM receives a signal from the headlight switch, it switches power to the headlights. There is no mechanical relay in this system. Headlight switch is a fairly high failure item on Chrysler products, so the first thing you want to do is use a scan tool to see if the BCM is actually getting the command to turn on the headlights. If it is, then you've either got a bad BCM or a wiring issue from the BCM to the headlights.

I have a 1993 YJ Jeep Wrangler and I can't get my head lights to come on. My running light fuses seem to be ok. What could it be?

Most cars have a headlight relay. It's typically in the fuse box. They do go bad, and often you can pull one out, and smack it smartly, and it will work fine again.

I have a 95 jeep yj wrangler none of the gauges work . it starts and runs fine and the headlights work but that is it .

ffirst check all your fuses, then check all the connections at the battery, then make sure the fusible links are good, also theres a power wire that comes through the firewall that feeds the interior the connector goes bad, and one more thing is to take a good look at the ignition switch it the steering column. hope this helps.

My headlight switch gets too hot.

You can find the fuse but you probably need to change the switch itself. When this progresses it may come to the point of cutting out the lights altogether. This happened a lot in the 80's chrysler vehicles. It is cheap and easy to change out the light switch. Good luck.

Headlight wont turn offcole family racing

Only 2 things can cause this either the headlight switch or the headlight relay, chances are it's the switch,if you have a multimeter pull the relay out and probe the leads with the headlights in the off position you should only have power on 1 wire, with them on 2 wires are hot if this is the case then the relay is stuck,it's in the fuse box under the hood, another thing can cause this if the fog lights have been rewired to stay on even with highbeams on,power will feed back to the headlight circuit.

I have a 95 Cherokee sport and the headlight do not come on. We have checked the fuses and they appear to be good. Is there a circuit breaker for the headlight system?

Late one night on the way home from a night at a friends cabin on a lake, my headlights stopped working. So I stopped, after driving to a safe spot holding in the headlight high beam selector for emergency lights for about 15 mins. I checked all the fuses, with a tester, as well as a visual check, and they were all good, so I checked the relays by switching in some spares I have, and nothing. So I drove the last 20 minutes home holding the signal switch towards me, and went to bed cursing my luck. The next morning, bright and early on a Sunday morning, I tore into the dash, with 2 suspected broken switches in mind, and with brand new replacements next to me.

Now I am a novice mechanic, I can do almost any simple task- u joints, driveshafts ect, but this was a major-league pain in the ****. You have to take the whole dash out, and take the instrument cluster out, after taking the steering wheel off, in order to even see the back of the headlight switch. So I changed it, after cursing the Chrysler gods for putting such a simple part in such a stupid location. And on a good hunch, I also changed the signal light switch, at the same time.

Long story short, mopar/jeep/Chrysler uses very craptacular switches, so go aftermarket, unless you want to spend about 4 hours of your quality time changing switches ever year.
