SOURCE: 2002 dodge ram 2500 diesel

I'm no expert, but I am on my second Dodge. I have a 2004 Ram 2500, 125k miles on it. I traded in my 2001 1500 with 99k on it.
Your problem sounds like one of two things that happened to me. At 110k mi's it was not accelerating properly, particularly between 40 and 50 mph. It turned out my torque converter was going bad and I ignored it for too long and it's disintegrated pieces ruined my transmission. I recommend getting over to Aamco right away or to the dealer if you are still in warranty and have the TC checked out. The diesel is just too much torque for a torque converter on the automatic transmission, but manuals are too much of a pain these days. $2300 at Aamco to have the TC replaced and the tranny rebuilt.

The new problem I have now is when it acted like it was out of fuel and then wouldn't turn over after it died. My fuel lift pump (diesels have two of everything and the expensive one is always what goes) has gone bad and is currently being replaced, $700 part, plus another few hundred in labor.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Transmission Shifts Slow

Have you changed the fluid and filter every 2 yrs or 36k miles?
Are you using atf+4 only?
If all the above are a yes then check the throttle cable to the transmission as it should be adjusted to move at exactly the same as the throttle and it they are out of adjustment the transmission will not shift at the correct time and wil eventually cause early failure, also after a rebuild the tranny has to be reflashed by a dealer

SOURCE: intermitent no bus problem on 2003 dodge 1500

check all relays .. relays after getting hot will shut off what ever they run.. so check them closely .. they are in your power distribution box under the hood and the lid usually has a diagram of which is which.. Relays are good at cooling off and working right a while too so look these over . or change the ones you think are the right one.. thanks Jerry

SOURCE: 2004 dodge ram 1500 rear brake light out how to replace?

Well once the tail gate is open and you take out the 2 screws on the light fixture . the light assembly shall pivot towards the outside of the box. some manipulating but the assembly shall come out.
The bulb needs a simple twist and pull .... Plug and play..

SOURCE: check engine light on code

This trouble code is Evap Purge System Performance fault. 1) Check for a loose or missing fuel cap. 2) Check for a damaged or missing fuel cap seal. Recheck for other trouble codes. This fault wont cause the stumblering problem. It turns on the MIL lamp to say there leak in the EVAP system.

The check engine light and VSC light came on in my 2005 highlander. 168,000 miles

P0420 & P0430 You need new catalytic converter
The P0430 check engine light code, like P0420, means the catalyst system efficiency is below the required threshold. Simply put, this means your car is adding more pollution into the air than it's supposed to.

P0420 error engine light is on

One or the other. Before I would change out a catalytic converter, I would want the old one tested first to make sure it is bad. Or you might just try a new oxygen sensor on bank 1. Bank 1 would be the driver's side, or whatever side of engine has the number one cylinder-that is bank 1.
P0420: catalyst system efficiency below threshold (Bank 1).

05' Dodge RAM 1500 code p0420. I've been changing oxygen sensors since u bought it 2 years ago, thought the problem was solved but yet again check engine light came on, could there be an other problem??

Hello: Code P0 420 indicates the catalytic converter is operating below calibrated efficiency (below 60%) replacing the oxygen sensors will not correct the condition. The converter needs to be replaced and the code cleared.

2004 Dodge Ram P0420 code. What could be causing this? My emissions are clean (all were within limits), and I just replaced all 4 oxygen sensors

This code is set when the catalytic converters are operating below tolerable efficiency limits. Basically, your catalytic converters are bad and are in need of replacement. You can have bad converters and still pass emissions, but your computer uses the oxygen sensors to determine how well they are working. If the readings are out of a set tolerance, the check engine light will illuminate and DTC P0420 will set. Clearing the code will turn the light out temporarily, but the next time the test is run, the light will come on again.
Hope this helps.

My 2003 dodge ram 1500 shows dtc code P0420 can you tell me the problem

PO420 code tells you the catalytic converter is not reaching the proper temperature .. that is measured by the back oxygen sensor (just behind the CAT ... make sure the heat shield is in place (in cold weather) .. you can check for a rattle in the cold CAT (thats bad) .. the rear O2 sensor can be bad or you could have a bad catalytic converter or one thats on it way to being bad .. there are some tests a mechanic can do .. 1. a back pressure test 2. measure the temperature of the CAT surface .. it should be around 225 deg F (after warmup) .. a non contact (IR) thermometer is handy for this .. make sure the pipe behind the CAT and the muffler are not leaking ..some "high flow rate " replacement mufflers will cause the trouble ..

My 2003 1500hd Silverado 6.0L has the error code of P0420. Can you help?

P0420 is a catalytic convertor efficiency below threshold, basically the convertor is not working to specs. As long as you are under 80,000 miles the convertor is covered under federal warranty for 8years/80K miles at the dealer. If its not covered, you need Bank 1 Catalytic convertor replaced possibly with Oxygen sensors.

Trouble shooting P0420 code, bank 1, OBD II for 2000'?

misfiring can cause a P0420 code.
I would recommend a set of honda plug wires and plugs if the P0420 code returns.
I have used bolt in aftermarket bolt in catalytic converters but don't remember the brand name they fit ok and i have had 1 or 2 return with a P0420 code out of about 20. I have never replaced the oxygen sensor on a civic like yours.
I always fix the misfire problems, reset the computer, and have the customer drive it and see if the code p0420 returns. 50% don't have the P420 code return. drive it and see what happens and go from there.
