I'm assuming this is a DIS(distibutorless ignition system). If it is,the most common cause is a defective coil pack. Each coil will fire a pair of cylinders together on 4 and 6 cylinder engines(one "waste" spark, one to ignite the mixture).Try swapping the wires at the coil pack to see if the misfire follows the coil tower,or the same cylinder misfires(keep in mind that a check engine light means you will have to clear the code to get the computer to feed that cylinder fuel before you start it up again). If the other cyl on the pack now misfires(i believe 1+5 are on the same pack on a Ford engine),then the coil is bad(spark is "leaking"to ground). If the same cyl still misfires, try swapping a wire+plug from another cylinder.

Firing order for a 99 chevy S10 vortex 4.3

I think on the 1999 V6 the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. Stand with the engine pulleys and belts nearest to you. The cylinders are number as Odd and Even. The LEFT side is the EVEN numbers, (2-4-6). Number Two is nearest to you and Number 6 is furthest away from you. The RIGHT side is the ODD numbers, (1-3-5). Number One is nearest to you and number Five is furthest away from you.

I have a sebring 2004 v6 2.7 which is misfiring. put it a new coil and changed plug on cylinder that doesnt fire still no spark. im getting power all th way to the plug tested with volt meter.it reads 14...

Invalid test. When plug fires, the wire shoots around 40,000volts. When not firing, there is no current in the wire.
Try switching the misfiring plug wire with another that is firing. Switch them both at the plug and at the coil tower. If that was a bad plug wire, the misfire will now be on the cylinder where you put the suspect wire. This will confirm a bad plugwire.
Good luck.

Gas comming out of the tail pipe check engine light does not come on.

Chances are it is water coming out this is normal to notice some water dripping out of exhaust periodically as the car runs, If the liquid actually smells like gas i am at a lose I have never heard of this occuring.

Number five mis-fire!

check plugs/wires or coil packs. for irregular wear or burn marks. TRy some fuel treatment just in case it is a injector issue.
