remote batteries are dear or the interior reciever has gone bad..try new batteries and make sure the transmitter is working...most big parts stores can do this for you
Battery base has a device that clamps the battery on a step/notch on the side. Use a ratchet with an extension to loosen. Once it is loose you can remove the battery.
