2005 Mercedes E-Class brake HUMMIMG noise

After pressing the brake pedal two to three times, I can here a humming noise from the engine area for 3-5 seconds also I can feel a vibration on the brake pedal.
I know that the noise is comminf from the SBC while it charging the brake system.
I need to know is there a solution to quite this noise?

Hi there, sadly there is no solution for this problem and is very common on the e-class as mine does it aswell. There was a big recall on the sbc units on the early w211 model up to 05 i think. The good news is that there is a 10 year warranty unlimited milage, so take it to the local dealer incase it might be faulty.

Belt pulleys can make that noise. So can crank bearings, right before they sieze up.

Brake lights don't come on when pedal is pressed, all other lights work. What could be the cause?

While I'm not overly familiar with Mercedes, I'd assume that it still has a brake light switch located on the bar of the brake pedal itself. This switch is typically just a "plunger" style switch, where when you push the pedal down as if applying the brakes, the plunger extends outward turning the brake lights on. When the pedal is released, as if letting off the brakes, the plunger is depressed causing the lights to shut off. If that plunger gets stuck in a depressed position, the lights will remain off at all times. Check that first, along with the brake light fuse and/or relay. Good luck.

Abs light came on while driving and when engine is shut off makes a loud humming sound ? took the fuse out to make hummimg noise go away and now abs light and emergency parking brake are on all the time...

have the abs module checked for codes to find out what the problem is.when the system detects a fault in the system it turns on the abs light and check the e-brake to make sure its all the way off.the humming noise sounds like its coming from the abs hydraulic unit that`s not shutting off.

I have a 2006 e class elegance and there is a noise coming from the engine bay after about every 4 or 5 presses of the brake pedal . is this aserious problem

no problem, the noise is your brake system... it has an electric motor to pressurize the brake fluid in order to optimize performance and fluid levels to all four brakes.
