Both of the electric windows have stopped working on my 52 plate 2 door ford focus. Find it difficult to understand as I've recently had the driver side motor and switch replaced.
Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into all of the switches on the main controll on the drivers door. With the vehicle running ignition on . It s likely just a bad connection water gets in between the window glass and the switches . If that dosn't work remove the main switch and clean the contacts and it will work again.

actually you have thought of all but the prob. The track has jumped, making the motor not move the window. Sometimes you can gently slide the window up by hand and then the motor will catch the track and finish rolling the window up

Look in the Engine bay fuse box at Fuse #12 this should be for the power windows. If this checks out OK, it could be a fault with a bad ground wire in driver's side door harness. You should be able to pry the runbber boot from the drivers door, and check the larger Black wire that goes through it. These have been known to break after a few years use. If it is the cable, cut neatly, strip the ends anu use a crimp splice. Hope this is a quick and easy fix for you. If it helps you solve the problem, Please take a moment to rate as Fixya! Thanks.

I bought a Haynes workshop manual.
I tried to find a PDF manual on the Internet but failed. If anyone could guide me to a site I would appreciate it. Thanks
SOURCE: electric window
it could be the switch on the door panel??? Are it could be the motor to the window. Take the door panel off, and jump the switch out. If it works by jumping the switch out. it will be and easy fix. It not, then you will need a new window motor. You can sometime pick an motor up for half price and your local junk yard. When you find your problem out and get it fix. go to the autoparts store an pick up a can of spray silicon lubercant, and spray it in your window tracks. over a pirod of time the window start dragging, causing the motor and switch to fail.

I believe there is a relay that needs to be reset after you replace the motor. Get a tester and make sure the wire is getting electricity to it too and that it's not just a fuse that's the problem. Hope it helps!
