Thanks for choosing FixYa. This can relate to a number of things. It could be bad spark plugs, spark wires, coils. It could be a bad fuel filter. It may even be something electrical. Your vehicle has to have the perfect percentage of air, fuel, and fire to run correctly. If it has been awhile since you did a tune up, get one. If the check engine light is on, check for codes. It could even be a vacuum leak, so check your vacuum hoses and air filter. Since it is a bad miss, it is probably not in the hoses or filter, but bad air can cause it. Could be a bad fuel injectors.

What symptoms would I notice if my mechanic forgot to reinstall my Ground Wire on the Engine? Hesitation, Losing power if I step on the gas accelerator to hard.
If you suspect the ground wire is missing you can just use a jumper cable from the neg battery terminal to somewhere on the engine to provide a temporary ground. Missing/bad grounds can cause all sorts of problems. You should probably take it back to the mechanic though.

My 1990 corvette sounds like it is choking when i step on the gas ,and it is missing, when I am at a stop sign I step on the gas it is choking and then it picks back up
check the squirters in the carborater, there is a mechanical valve that squirts the gas into the butterflies, if the valves are bad then they will need to replaced hope this helps

1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette. At times it seems
a bad tps sensor will cause: transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cutoff, hesitation on takeoff, surge while cruising down highway. to check, remove connector from tps, use a ohms meter and probe center and any one of the other connectors,move throttle slow. if it jumps or does not stay steady while moving throttle, its bad. if the needle on ohms meter moves good then the tps is ok. move throttle plate slowly.

It is probably a bad coil, have someone put it on a computer and see what cylinder is missing. The coils go bad all the time on the 5.4's
