It is more than likely that the lock solenoid is not working,or the wires going to it are broken inside the trunk, also.alot of mercedes models have air operated locks that is controlled by a main box with air lines running to it .remove the liner on the left side of the trunk and take a look and make sure the vacuum lines are not pinched or broken.

SOURCE: can't open trunk with remote control. When unlock,

2007 then to re programme key it needs dealer software diagnostic machine ,if this is the problem but i think the problem is the operating solonoid in the boot ,i think it may be stuck or sticking ,locking but not releasing and if this is the case then remove the panel and oil the rod on top of the operating mechanism with engine oil so it soaks down into the solonoid and after a couple of days it should free its self up .

The trunk on my 2013 AZERA will open with the inside switch and the keyfob but not with the outside trunk handle switch with the doors unlocked or with the keyfob in the area of the trunk

Let's troubleshoot this issue:

Valet Mode:
First, check if the trunk is in valet mode. Some vehicles have a setting that prevents the trunk from opening using the key fob or the dash button when in valet mode.
Look under the trunk at the top of the license plate area. You'll find a key slot there. Use the physical key section of your key fob to open the trunk manually.

Child Locks:
Ensure that the child lock feature is not accidentally engaged. If it is, the trunk won't open from the outside handle switch.
Switch the child lock to the unlock position and try pulling the trunk handle again before closing the door.

Trunk Release Relay:
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, there might be an issue with the trunk release relay.
Check if there's ground at the switch in the glove compartment when you activate the release switch on the door, the trunk release on the key fob, or the rear handle.
Use a paperclip to jumper between the #30 and the #87 pin sockets of the relay. The pin numbers are usually labeled on the relay body.

Mechanical Issues:
Inspect the trunk latch mechanism for any signs of damage or obstruction.
Verify that the outside trunk handle is properly connected to the latch.

I locked my keys in the trunk of my 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Unable to access trunk via rear seats Can't find any manual release mechanism from within the cab. Roadside assistance says order new keys

On the internet it said the Hyundai Dealer can make you a cheap key for only the trunk, which is cheaper than the regular key if you provide VIN information and proof that you own the vehicle.

If you have another key, or already ordered and received a replacement key, you might still have problem opening trunk, and another person said "Easy way is to press the unlock button on the driver's door. Then the trunk release will work."

Can not open trunk of Lexus gs 350 make 2013

Hi Would you please write back and explain in detail, the malfunction? This model does not come equipped with a key hole but there are there different ways to open the trunk. The trunk not opening will be a result of either a mechanical or electrical failure. Please write back and let me know if you are looking for diagnostic information, wiring schematics, or general knowledge. I need to know more to better answer your question. FYI, if the key FOB and "In Cab" switch is not working. There is an emergency release level that hangs inside the trunk. That handle can be accessed by folding down the rear center seat section.

The key fob trunk button and the button inside the car will not open my trunk, my Camaro is a convertible. How can I open the trunk we have perishables in there.

Here's what I found:

The top has to be all the way down or all the way up and locked or else the trunk won't open.

If there truly was a malfunction there is a key hole for the trunk between the rear seat and the driver side sail panel.

My husband and I have a 1994 Cadillac Seville STS with a trunk release malfunction. We have tried to open the trunk by inserting the key in the lock, but the key will not turn. Until today, we were...

Does the key you have open the driver door? Do you have a keyless entry key fob, does it work? you also might try removing the glove box and disconnecting the wires from the trunk button and touching them together with a paper clip or other small wire but before you do that look in your owners manual a determine which fuse is for the trunk release and check the fuse then the last would be to have GM dealer check to see if the key you have is the proper key fror your car and if it may be worn out

I can not open my back seats. The trunk release will not work and the key will not open the trunk

this is only a suggestion but some cars have a safety feature wich to keeps people from snooping around your car that has access to your keys. make sure by reading your owners manual that there is not a button like in your glove box or center console box you may have mistakenly hit. I do not know about mercedes but for instance toyota provides you with what is called a vallet key wich is a third key wich will only allow you to open the door and you start the car not allowing glove box or trunk entry like a said this is only a suggestion it very well could be a broken cable or an electrical malfunction. good luck
