2001 Sequoia parking and instrument lights come and stay on one or 2 minutes after turning engine off

Turn engine off and remove key from ignition, close door, but don't lock it. a minute or so later parking & instrument lights come on, and will not go off even if headlight switch is turned on-off or car is locked-unlocked with remote key-less entry. Only way to get 'em go off is to put key in ignition and turn. When in this funny mode, if I turn engine off and lock door by remote (parking lights are suppose to flash once - or ON-OFF once), parking and instrument lights come on and stay on till battery dies. Intermittent problem once every 2-3 weeks, funny mode can last a few minutes or till batteries die. Seems to go away easier if I disconnect the battery, of course comes back after a few days.

Everything on this truck is Toyota original equipment, including the remote keyless, alarm, the engine immobilizer, and everything else. The problem was intermitted, and it is now almost there al the times (or better say 90%).
    - I turn off the engine and remove the keys and close the door, but do not lock it. with in 2 minutes the parking lights come on and stay on (90% of the time).
    - If parking lights do not come on, then when I use the remote to lock the car, the parking lights come and stay on (do not flash once to indicate car is locked).
    - if the pronlem has not happened and the car is locked and parking lights are not on, if I unlock the car with the remote, then parking lights come on and stay one (they are supposed to flash twice).
    - When the parking lights get into this situation of staying on, the only thing that will make them go off is putting the key into the ignition and turnning the key so the radio can come on, or engine comes on.

My own suspicion: It is the Body ECU that controls the lights. It sells for $588 in Canada, and US$499. It is the only part that Toyota marks up 20% compared to the USA, almost most other Toyota parts are marked up 50% to 80% in Canada.

SOURCE: 2003 Prius sometimes will not start, engine light comes on. Removing key from ignition, reinserting key, & turning wheel till it locks will then allow the car to start. Engine light stays on for a

I had a wire connector on the front of the engine that had so much tension, the wires broke. I didn't notice until a wet day when the car wouldn't start (and the Check Engine light was on). (The error code was related to an Emissions error.) The connector is located on the engine, front, just left of center. Hope this helps!

1. Park the vehicle in a safe place and turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position.
2. Adjust the pressure of all installed tires to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

How do I clear engine management light

Remove battery cable for a minute, then put it back on. The light will go out.

If there is a fault in the system that hasn't been repaired properly, the light will eventually come back on. Fixing the problem is usually the best solution.

How do I program my key for my 2006 Chevy Impala?

Add Duplicate Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)
1. Insert an existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key and, within fifteen seconds, insert the new key
and turn it to ON (RUN).
4. The security light will light up for two seconds to indicate success in programming
the key into the vehicle.
Originate New Master Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)

1. Insert new key into ignition cylinder and turn it to the ON (RUN) position.
The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes.
2. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
3. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back on the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
4. After the security light has gone off the third time, the key has been programmed
into the vehicle’s computer and will operate the car. It has replaced ALL the
previous electronic key codes and is the ONLY key programmed into the
vehicle’s computer.

Starter will not engage anti theft light is on it is a 2005 cobalt

I found this on a website try this

1. Put the newly cut Master key into the keyway and turn it to the ON (RUN) position. A "security" indicator
light on the dashboard will stay on for 10 minutes.
2. Within 1 minute after the indicator light goes off, turn the ignition to "OFF", then return to the ON (RUN)
position. The indicator light again will stay on for 10 minutes (Do not remove the key.)
3. Again, within 1 minute after the indicator light goes off, turn the ignition to "OFF", then return to the ON
(RUN) position. The indicator light again will stay on for 10 minutes. (Do not remove the key.)
4. When the light goes off the third time, the new key is programmed into the computer and will start
the car. Remove the key and then re-insert it into the ignition lock and start the car.
All previously stored codes will be erased. To stop the process at any time, simply remove the key and use
an existing key to start the car.
