This sounds like a vcuum leak in one of the hoses and you can check this by getting a can of carburetor cleaner and spraying short squirts around the enging area. It the idle jumps up when spraying the try to locate why and where your sprayed. See if you can here a hissing like sucking air. Next step and you might as well check it any how is the aiir filter. Take it out and hold it to the sun or some bright light and see if the light is trying to filter through. If not and it is dark then knock it gently on something and try to get most of the dust and dirt off it. This may give it a quick fix but will need to be replaced pronto. you should be adding the 134a to the system the low pressure switch is doing its job by not allowing the compressor to kick on, it wont kick on until there is enough 134a in the system to be above the preset pressure for the low pressure switch.
