I have a 2000 jeep wrangler..My jeep has been running bad for almost 2 years. It started out when the jeep was driven for a long distance it would stall out at red lights and stop signs. So we changed the map sensor, crank sensor.and the throttle body sensor. Well none of that made a difference. changed fuel pump cause it went out. Tryed new injectors, Did not change fuel filter. But noticed that the fuel is mucky gray. Running out of options. Can someone hit the nail on the head. Its my only transportation
SOURCE: no injector pulse, no current to the injector
Check the pickup in the distributor as this is the cam sensor. The injectors run of the pulses created while the rotor is turning around. It should be a plastic disk located under the rotor button.

i had a similar problem and called the dealer during lunch hour. i talked to a mechanic, the distributor in these vehicles is plastic, and is prone to cracking.not just the cap but the body also, I have been taking the cap off and wiping the moisture out of the cap. or replacing the cap but the problem is I need a new distributor. just a cheep way to get rolling is cleaning the inside of the cap, especially when it is very damp or the outside temp changes alot during the day. good luck.

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

I had the same issue with my 4.0, I went through all the same BS you did and in the end it was a faulty fuel pump. Pricy i know but im sure thats your problem
