SOURCE: 95 subaru impreza ;speedometer quit, engine light stays on

i had this problem with mine if your cable spins wen the car is moving its not the gear box end or the cable its the speed sensor in the speedo its self its very easy to fix you have to strip the speedo out of the case the sensor is only small and on the under side of the speedo the sensor is about 50 mm long and 10 mm wide change that and it should be ok
oh remember to reset your ecu

SOURCE: Subaru Impreza gas cap door won't open

If there is one - In trunk - directly behind the gas filler door - behind trunkliner (carpet)
The cable should not have any problems... use a partner to hold the door release and try and pry it open with your fingers.
The spring popper may be bad.
Try this if you dont have an assistant :D

I had this problem with my STI -- easy to fix by bending the little metal on the inside of the fuel door that provides the spring action to open the door. 5 second fix

SOURCE: subaru impreza automatic transmission won t shift

Try replacing the transmission filter and the trannie fluid. Mine would only go in reverse, and now it drives pretty well. This year has a screw on filter. Hope this helps

97 impreza 2.2l coupe on start up there is a engine knock until the car fully warms up and then its gone

THis could be several things. Start by making sure that there is nothing under the hood that is hitting the belts or pulleys. Check the oil level. If the oil level is low, add enough to top it off according to the dipstick. If the oil is okay, look to see if it is dark, thin and runny. If so, change it and the filter. If that is all okay, it could be a valve or lifter. Watch for oily spots to show up on the rear bumper which would indicate that you are blowing oil out the bottom of the engine - not a good thing. Also watch for smoke coming out the tailpipe after the car is hot - don't confuse steam in the early morning's cool air with smoke.

95 subaru imprezia how do you remove the exhaust from the engine

Hello, there will be 2 (14mm) nuts on each exhaust manifold flange if it's a 2.2 liter and 3 (14mm)on each if it's a 2.5 liter. Remove your under shield if equipped and then there is a bracket mounted on the rear of the transmission on the passengers side of the trans that the exhaust is bolted to(14mm). then the 2 bolts with the small springs must also be removed (bolts are 14mm/nuts are 12mm). You can't forget about the oxygen sensor connectors, they must be disconnected first, one should be towards the back of the trans and the other at the front, both coming off of the exhaust. It's easiest to locate the sensors first then follow the wires to the connectors. I hope this info helps...(subyguru)...

Subaru impreza uk model wrx stalls and low idle, hesition

try adjusting the throttle cable, its a case of loosening a nut, pulling the cable through a bit more and then tightening it back up, you find it on the right hand side of the engine block close to the exhaust manifold.
