SOURCE: rough idle at stops
it could be any of the following:
time for a complete tune up ( plugs, wires, cap, rotor )
it could be thatyour ignition timing is out
you mayhave a clogged fuel filter
your injectors may be dirty
or you may have a vacuum leak
any of these could be the cause for your problem.
SOURCE: car stutters when driving like isn't getting
shuttering going up hill usually means fuel filter needs replacement
SOURCE: engine stuttering upon acceleration
Sounds like your transmission is shot... but I'm not sure... Generally when you have problems while shifting gears it's the tranny isn't it? I'd get it looked at.

Most likely your throttle position sensor is faulty. You could have a vacuum leak as well. Most probable cause is a bad sensor. Is your check engine light on? Have you checked your engine codes? You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual.
Testimonial: "the check engine light had been on but we unplugged the battery yesterday for a couple of hours and put it back in and the light isn't on anymore. "
