Van won't start brand new battery,but acts like a

Battery is not holding a charge great enough to start the engine, acts like it is dead. Get a new battery would be my first step.

Either its a bad new battery or tour altenator isn't charging it. Jumpstart it.

The first thing you need done is to thave the properly battery tested with a special tool. Most parts stores dop this test for free.

You say the battery seems dead

I suggest that you test it,you should also
know if it is at least 5 years old & would expect it to go dead

That said, those things you need to know before you
ever attempt to jump a battery

If it isn't capable of taking a charge,then your
basically creating an unsafe act & bad things
could happen to that battery & you

If the battery is dead & the vehicle is running
on the alternator,then the electronics won't work
& you go 10 mph or not at all or worst.

The lack of power could be any number of things
Work on the battery issues,then continue on

have u tried replacing the ignition switch.. sounds like that's the problem..

could be a starter relay

does the engine crank normally?? when you say it "attempts" to start?? how was the battery run dead??

Could be the battery is dead or dieing. When batteries start to go they will cause the security to act up. Plus other things

baterr ywas dead changed it-new battery worked-discharged once air turned on-put in 2nd bateer yseems fimne as long as you don't turn on the air-if you do there is a clicking inside radioconsole and discharges battery
