OCV is the oil control valve for the VVTi system, it's located on the side of the cylinder head at the front and has an electrical connector on it, the valve may the problem but it cou;ld also be a clogged oil passage that supplies regulating pressure to the valve or the VVTi gear, the system operation can be checked by connecting an intelligent tester that can activate the system to verify if the valve is the problem, before replacing expensive parts I would make sure what the problem actually may be.

SOURCE: I diagnose my 2000 celica gts and got two codes 1.

for your first problem its a camshaft position sensor and to fix it you have to replace it. It causes the lift problems with the 2zz-GE engine. For your second problem here is the link to diagnose the problem.

SOURCE: 2003 toyota corolla -had the problem with the code

It is very possible that the oil pump has failed. I would not drive the car. If the oil pressure really is low, then it will burn the motor up. The car needs to be put on the computer to see if the ECM is registering any oil pressure.

SOURCE: have p0130 and p0133 codes 98 toyota tacoma

I would check the O2 sensor, and if it checks bad, replace it, and clear the trouble codes. If the light comes back on, you may need to check further. .

I have a Mahindra Scorpio having a fault code P1656 can you give me the specific point to check in regards, with P1656 Thanks

code p 1656 refers to OCV control circuit malfunction , bank 1
the OCV is the oil control valve for the cam timing and is regulated by the ecm
it is used to advance /retard the valve timing
The ECm verifies the that the desired cam shaft angle has been obtained by monitoring the cam shaft position sensor or if the timing chain has excessive play
on the cam shaft there is a servo that is oil operated that changes the valve timing according to engine rpm
that could be the problem or wiring to that unit

What is fault code P1656 on Mahindra Scorpio

Fault code P1656 on the Mahindra Scorpio points to a malfunctioning OCV control circuit. The OCV, i.e., the oil control valve, is to keep the cam shaft timing in place, and this is monitored by the ECM. The ECM does this by ensuring that the camshaft angle is correct by looking at the camshaft position sensor or the timing chain. The problem may have occurred because of a wiring issue.

I HAVE p0010 code Problem.CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR CIRCUIT

P0010 - "A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)

A P0010 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module). That consists of an oil control valve (OCV), also called a solenoid valve and other components. Basically the check engine light and associated P0010 trouble code means that the voltage in the circuit has fallen below a set limit for a specific amount of time (varies by make/model/engine).

Symptoms may include:
* Check Engine Light illuminated (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)
* Rough running
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0010 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty oil control valve (OCV)
* Open or short in the VVT/VCT circuit
* Open or short in the OCV / solenoid valve
* Damaged computer (PCM)

Possible Solutions: Some recommended troubleshooting and repair steps are:
* Carefully inspect the Bank 1 VVT/VCT system circuit wiring and connectors, repair as required
* With a warm engine, test the operation of the OCV, replace/repair as needed

Hope this helps to solve it (remember to rate this answer).
