Ford F150 Pickup 2005 power doors unlock but will not lock

I own a 2005 F150 XLT Ford pickup. The power door locks will unlock automatically with the door button and the key fab. Neither the door button or the key fab will lock the doors. The key fab button flashes the lights when I push the lock button but it does not lock the door. Also, the system use to lock the doors when the truck would move forward. This no longer works. I think this is some safety relay or something that has failed. The buttons are not tight working up and down. I have rebuilt other door locks before when they were tight. These are smooth and easy to move. The locking mechanism makes no noise when I push the lock at all.

I want to question the door lock diagnosis. I have other info that may change the diagnosis? Sorry if I was not clear. I have a 4 door F150. All 4 doors will unlock with the driver door unlock button and the key fab. None of the four doors will lock using the drivers door lock or key fab. Why would all 4 door acutators have failed the same way at the same time? Is there a relationship between them other than a lock or unlock signal? Something has effected all 4 so I would think it is electrically where all the door mechanisms come together in the system??

Tracy ... I had considered removing the battery cable before but just forgot about it. I listened for the under the seat clicking sound and did not hear anything. Maybe I am hard of hearing?? At any rate I did pull the battery cable and it indeed fixed the problem. Thanks for giving me that extra confirmation of a possible fix. Four stars for you!

I have a 2004 F-150 and three of my doors will unlock bot not lock, the driver's door is the only one that works normal. They three doors started acting up at the same time so I ruled out actuators. I pulled the fuses for the BSM and even pulled the battery cable to try to reset anything but nothing happpened I got the same results. Everything else is working properly in the truck. I'm confused

I had almost the identical problem on my 2005 F150 FX4 Extended cab last weekend. The power door locks would not lock using the keypad, remotes, or door buttons. Almost all other functions worked correctly. The doors unlocked, the radio delay functioned, and the interior lights dimmed. When I used the remote the horn would beep twice indicating that a door was open even there was no message on the message center that a door was open. When I used the keypad or remote, I could hear a soft click from behind the seat. I think it was coming from the body security module or body security module - whatever Ford is calling it this year. I pulled the fuse for the Power Door Locks(BSM). As I removed it, I heard a soft click - sort of like a relay resetting. It may have come from the VSM/BSM. It may have possibly been a stuck actuator releasing. I don't think so. It wasn't that load. In any case, everything is functioning correctly now.

Where is the door lock relay found in a 2012 f150 xlt

Do you know what a smart junction box is ?

Power Locks
The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the door lock control switches. When the SJB receives an unlock/lock command from either door lock control switch, the SJB energizes a relay (internal to the SJB) to supply the correct power and grounds for the door lock actuators

internal - inside soldered to the circuit board ( non- servicable ) better make dam sure that is the problem . would need to replace SJB - $$$$$

How to fix door locks on 2002 Ford Ranger LXT pickup that lock but cant not unlock.

Does it have keyless entry ?
Power Door Locks
The central security module controls the power door lock and keyless entry system. The lock and unlock operation is carried out by supplying ground to the central security module from the door lock control switch. The normal path of the actuators is to ground through the central security module. The door lock control switch will lock and unlock all doors by grounding the appropriate circuit to the central security module. The central security module then supplies power to the appropriate common actuator circuit to lock or unlock all doors.

Keyless Entry
The keyless entry remote transmitter sends a frequency that is received by the central security module internal antenna. Depending on the frequency received, the central security module will lock all doors or unlock the driver door. If the unlock frequency is received again within five seconds of the first unlock, the central security module will unlock all doors.
If the frequency received is from the panic button, the central security module will cycle ground to the parking lamps and horn. The parking lamps and horn will continue to cycle until the panic button is pressed again or the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position.

2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD-LT 4-Door Crew Cab Pickup Truck

Probably is the actuator. Common problem. The actuator is part of the complete door latch. Hopefully that is what you got from 'Dorman'.
