I have a o4 chevy colorado 4x4 and i lost my 4x4 in my truck its a 2.8l and when i push the 4x4 swich it blinks a few times and then gos back to 2wd. dose anyone know whats going on?

  • Bruce George Nov 29, 2014

On my early 2006 Corado, the 15 amp fues would fail from time to time causing the 4wd light to blink and 4wd stop working. The problem was with the short 4 wire harness to the actuator and not with the actuator itself. I changed it and it still did not enguage. The wires and lower plug corode and degrade. If you have an honest Chevy dealer he will sell you the 2 foot long harness or you can buy an aftermarket lower plug and pigtail repair kit. The harnessis easy to get to by removing the aaair filter box and unplugging at the actuator. Took me about an hour including soldering on the 4 wires. No need to lift the vehicle.

SOURCE: Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

sounds like a mouse has got in and chewed the cables, their is no easy fix from what i can think of but check all the wires and connections in case water has got into it,or snow if your in alaska.its fifteen years old now so its possible that some insulation has broken down or a wiring loom has chaffed somewhere underneath

SOURCE: 4-wheel drive won't shift into gear

I take it you have the manual t-case shifter on the floor. If so check all your linkages from the shifter to the t-case, if all appears well, simply disconnect the linkage from the t-case and see if it moves if it does your problem is in the shift mechanism in the t-case. if it still wont move even while disconnected clean and lube the linkage. If this still doesn't do the trick. replace your linkage

SOURCE: The brake lights on my 2004 Chevy Colorado are not

Look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you brake it pulls the switch out. Most likely this switch needs to be replaced

SOURCE: 92 chevy s10 4x4 4.3L manual transmission no 3rd gear

Hi:

Your transmission has 3 shift rails...
1st - 2nd
3rd -4th
5th- Reverse

If your 3rd gear doesn't work , you have an internal transmission problem, such as a syncronizer, or similar fail... There is not much you can fix, without removeing the transmission.

My brake lights dont work on my 2007 Chevy Colorado. the fuse looks ok and I replaced the bulbs.

The brake light switch , usually mounted to the pedal bracket, is probably bad . If equipped with cruise and driving down the road, see if hitting the brakes disengages the cruise speed .

Where is the cruise control fuse in a 2004 chevy trailblazer?

Gotta tell you, this question had me a little confused. Below are 2 wiring diagrams for you. One is for the cruise control circuit and the other is for the air conditioning circuit. The reason I gave you those is because it seems according to the wiring diagram in the cruise control that the fuse for the cruise control goes to the HVAC (air conditioning). According to the wiring diagram for the A/C yes that fuse also controls the ignition power for the A/C controller. In any case the fuse that would cover the cruise control is the number 30 fuse in the fuse panel located under the hood of the vehicle. Below is a picture of the location of the fuse panel and also fuse layout diagrams for the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engine vehicles as they have different layouts depending on the engine size. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Bulb on license plate is out and cruise control. 2004 cavalier

The two problems should not be related to one another. The the fuses for the park lights and the cruise control. The license plate bulb is wired along with the rest of your park lights. If the rest of the park lights are working then check for power and ground at the bulb holder. If you have both there, check the bulb and the fit again. If no power or ground is there you will have to trace the wires. If the fuse is not blown to the cruise control, more information is required to trouble shoot any further.

It's in the owners manual. Cruise control will not work if your parking brake is set, or if the master cylinder brake fluid is low. That is staight out of the owners manual.

I did not, but they're a recall on the 2004-2006 Colorado trucks for this problem. I have come to find out that the brake lights are not functioning as well. The recall explains that these trucks (2004-2006) is having problems with the brake lights (sensor, switch?) that it would also cause the cruise control not to work. So hopefully I can call the dealership to make an appointment to get it fixed.
