P 1751 Shift Solenoid" A" performance. The solenoid is part of the transmission valve body and yes if this solenoid fails you will get limp mode. The only solution is a new solenoid may be even the wires to it or even the transmission module

SOURCE: my trans is stuck in second gear. Is that what

The town and country vans are know for transmission problems and it would not be stuck in 2nd gear if it was in limp mode. Limp mode typically controls the engine. I have seen people do a transmission flush/filter and add lucas to temporary fix the problem. There is also a good chance that the transmission has a solenoid problem preventing it from shifting into any other gears but second. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 2002 dodge neon code p0750

im not a trans. expert but would verify the range sensor (gear indicating sensor) is working properly and the L/R solenoid is ok. those are the 2 suspects for your problem

SOURCE: limp mode?

It may have a "loss of prime" code that usually follows a service of the fluid and filter. After you're sure the fluid is full at operating temperature, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect to see if the code resets. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2007 chevy equinox codes p0700 &p0705. van

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction, this comes on anytime a problem is sensed in the transmission
P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction(PRNDL Input)
this means that the circuit that signals the transmission control module when u slect a gear (Drive reverse etc.) has a problem, this can be the range selector switch or the wiring connector or the control module, in order to pin down which part is causing the fault code the Chevy dealer must hook up a scan tool called a "Tech II" and read the transmission data as the different gear requests are made.

Where is the transmission relay at on a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES?

The transmission does not have a fuse, only a power-up relay located in the under hood fuse panel, near the front of the panel.

If there is a problem with this relay, your transmission will reduce to fail safe mode only. Fail safe is the mechanical-only control which leaves you with Park, Reverse and 3rd gear only, provided there are no internal failures.

What exactly is the problem you are having?

I gotr a 98- 4L60E trans in limp mode & want to bypass neutral saftey switch. Can you help?

Bypassing the neutral safety switch won't help with the transmission problem. That switch is only wired into the start circuit.
Scan the computer for trouble codes. Has to be a code if it is in limp-in mode.

In and out of limp mode

My 2 experiences with limp mode was on a 93' Chevy. 1 time was the ecm, but it didn't reset until I replaced the ecm. The other time was the main electrical plug that comes from the ecm. The largest electrical plug on the trans. I unplugged it and there was trans fluid inside the plug on the 16 pins that connect the external wire Barnes to the internal wire harness of the trans. This required a new harness inside of the trans and replacing the external harness near the trans. Not an easy fix and may not be your issue, but this issue would "come and go". Fluid would short out the communication at the pins.

96 chrysler town country wont shift into third gear

If it starts out in 2nd gear & dosn't shift, it is probably in a limp in mode. the system will need to be diagnosed & computer satisfied. sometimes disconnecting the battery will reset the computer & allow the trans to shift untill it sees the problem again. I recomend getting the codes read first so the memory will not be erased.

My 2000 dodge caravan just went into its limp mode for the transmission. It is staying in second gear and will not shift higher. What could be the reason?

The transmissions available in your caravan are problematic for having a bad solenoid pack. Once the transmission is set in the LIMP IN mode, then you need to take it to a dealer to get the code reset from the transmission and to get it diagnosed properly. I'm sure there will be a code such as, "trans solenoid stuck in LR" which means " low range" if the transmission went into limp in mode, then that simply means it defaulted to second gear only. Which is telling you to have it looked at asap. I'm sure if you repalce the transmission solenoid pack and gasket and perform the re-learn procedure, then your problem will go away. good luck!

Replaced trans because i could not get out of limp mode i replaced sensors, relays, tcm, grounds and checked all wiring. now new trans is in limp if i reset it the trans shifts great once you restart it back...

This usually points to a sensor issue or a computer failure.

What diagnostics have been done with a diagnostic data scanner. If its in limp mode what codes did you have before and what codes do you have now. ??
