2005 Dodge Durango. Amp Shortage?? suspect water leak in area of amp. Now no sound at all. No radio, navigation system, cd player, sattelite radio

When this first happened I noticed water dripping around front passenger window after car wash. (Amp is located in passenger floorboard area). The speedometer, tach, and other gauges were "jumping" and radio was acting wierd (volume going up and down by itself). Then all volumes went completely silent and the jumping of gauges stopped. Cleaned and replaced fuse and the sounds came back and the gauges jumped again for about 10 minutes with volume going up and down, then silence. No sounds again. New Amp?? Factory or aftermarket?

clarification...No sound to navigation system. System still works, just no sound.

Many of these 04-06 durangos have a leak problem at the top of the windshield on passenger side which leads to water getting into the passenger kickpanel where the amplifier is located. I had my windshield replaced for a crack and there was rust forming behind the top passenger side of windshield...( same with the rear hatch above the passenger side of the chrome molding that covers the handle. My radio went on and off depending on when it rained. Now it doesn't work at all. I plan to check for fuses related to the amp tonight to decipher whether the fuse just blew or that the amp was fried from the water.

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places.  However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.

could be but unless you actually check with Chrysler motor corp or you local dealership you wont know for sure. a Service bulletin is usually issued to dealership by the manufacturer if they identify a common problem. Just check with you r local dealer and all will be good in the end.

2003 dodge ram 1500 radio has power but no sound

these infinity amps are in a location that sometimes end up getting water on them from a leak at the top of the passenger side windshield. my Durango had been intermittently going in and out...usually depending on whether it had rained recently or not. It doesn't work at all anymore...gotta check the fuse for the amp first and if it is still good, well, then the amp got fried

Most stereo functions just stopped working.

Sounds like you have an internal short in the stereo. Or could be that the face of your stereo is worn out too. Get another radio.

2005 DODGE RAM PICKUP...ENGINE REVING & WON'T

I have seen this many times it most of the time was caused by a leak in the intake or air plenum ,you can test for that using a water bottle with a mist spray around the intake should change RPM.'s as it draws the water in ,telling you the area that is leaking BE CARFULL. MOVEING parts hope this is helpful. let us know how we are doing Thank You.

Can't get CD out of player. EJECT no longer working . In a 2005 Grand Caravan single CD player

I'm assuming the radio works. If so,the player is jammed & unfortunately the only solution is to remove the radio & try to take it apart to retrieve the disk. Usually you end up destroying the radio, but it's shot anyway.

Cd player quit working after i changed the battery radio still works fine.

kzingraff, I have a similar situation to Craig Waldie. I have a 2005 Durango and the CD player has not worked since I replaced the battery. Just like his 2004, the radio works perfectly, just not able to use the CD player. How can this issue be fixed?

Radio + CD player works, no sound

Check you antenna wiring. If you have a weak signal the mast may be loose or the mount can be too. Check for corrosion between the body and the mounting area as well
