1999 bmw 323i wouldn't jumpstart

1999 bmw 323i won't jump start with one car, the rental company told me that I need two cars connected to my battery at the same time to jump start. It seemed like that one car was enough to charge the battery but the car wouldn't start, what should I do? Is it dangerous to connect two cars to one for a jumpstart?

No danger involved, just useless. If ONE vehicle won't jump it, there's something drastically wrong with the engine. A charging system will only charge a max of 14 volts when charging a low or dead battery. Over that will hurt something. If you have two vehicles connected to your low battery, there's still only 14 volts going out from them and into yours. There is no reason why one jump vehicle won't charge and start your vehicle. Unless of course the jumped battery is really bad or has a bad/dirty connection. So clean your terminals before a jump. You may not need a jump.

My 323i bmw had eml go on and also a triangle with a circle around it and an exclamation in the center. Do I need to take it in?

Yes, something is malfunctioning. I think the light means something is wrong with the ABS. Certainly wouldn't want to be without that.

I changed the key batteries for my 1999 BMW 323i after they died. Afterwards the remote unlock and lock won't work, the car also won't start but it can turn over/on and the radio and the lights...

stick the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, remove it within 5 seconds, then hold the unlock button down and press the lock button 3 times within 10 seconds and release both buttons. The doors should lock/unlock to give you confirmation and your key should work.

I have a 2000 323i. The battery appears to be strong enough, but it won't turn over. Can you tell me if there is a fuse that maybe affecting this problem?

Have you attempted to jump start your car with either another vehicle or with a strong battery charger? If so, what were the results?

Do you hear clicking when you try to start it? If not, then clean your battery cables and then reattach and try again. If there is clicking, then you need to determine if the problem is in your starting circuit or the engine itself. So you will need to take off the serpentine belt and using a large socket wrench you need to try to turn the engine (clockwise only). If it will rotate, the problem is in your starting or charging circuits. If it won't rotate by hand then the problem is in your engine.

Its not worth 3,000 if it won't start, not a 3 series. MAYBE give him 1500- no start problems are very hard to diagnose in these cars.
