Cruise Control, Steering Wheel Radio Buttons, Overhead Console

This problem is for a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan ES 3.3.

All at once my cruise control, and steering wheel radio buttons quit working. The overhead console went bonkers too at the same time. When it shows 130 degrees F the A/C works while heater doesn't. When it shows -40 degrees F the heater works while A/C doesn't. Where can I get a 2001 Dodge Caravan Fuse Box Diagram.

It sounds like you got 2 problems...the cruise and radio buttons sound like a bad clockspring......the overhead console problem sounds like a bad ambient temp sensor located behind the grill. if it is too cold out the ac will not run

Hello I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan, the air bag light came on and the cruise control quit working at the same time. I dont really care about the light but i do care about the cruise control. I have...

At first guess I'd say you have a bad "clock spring", it's inside the steering column and it feeds the electrical signals up to the controls in the steering wheel.
Your air bags won't work, your horn, or your cruise control. Anything that's in the steering wheel.
It will have to be replaced.
You can check with Dodge but I think there was a recall on them but I also think there is a time and mileage contraint.

2001 Grand Caravan, Cruise control and buttons on ...

Look inside on the drivers side for the fuse/relay panel under the dash. To get to the panel, remove the lower steering column cover and kneepad. You will see the panel and everything is marked so you can check the correct fuse or relay. Use a test light to do all of your testing. Also under the hood on some models are more fuses and relays controlling other options on the van. Remove the cover and look inside cover for the correct location of the fuse and relay. Hope this will help you.

Cruise control and horn does not work

Test and replace the clockspring. Everything you mentioned runs through it first before splitting off different paths to thier own components. It is behind the steering wheel. Remember to disconnect the battery first before making any repairs.

Fuse location for cruise control on a 2000 dodge caravan

The cruise has no dedicated fuse, you will most likely be looking to replace the clockspring rotating contact located under the steering wheel which connects the switches in the steering wheel (horn, cruise and air-bag) to the rest of the electrical system.

Cruise control, and radio controls on steering wheel, now air bag

The problem is the coiled ribbon contact under the steering wheel (we call it the clock-spring contact) that connects the stereing wheel controls to the steering column wiring harness, this is a printed circuit that is coiled to allow the wheel to move and still have a psychical contact for the wheel switch's and the airbag, anyway replace that contact coil, u must disarm the airbag to do this repair, follow the factory procedure to do this or serious injury can result if the airbag fires.

Cruise Control

the most common problem is the rotating ribbon contact under the steering wheel that connects the cruise switch's to the steering column and cruise components, we tech's call this the clock spring contact, it is a flat ribbon of printed circuit tape that rolls up and un-rolls as u turn the wheel, it provides a moving connection for all steering wheel mounted controls and the airbag.

Horn, cruise control, air conditioning

Replace your steering column clock spring which carries the signal from the air bag, horn switch, and criuse controls.
