Recently I replaced my MAP sensor and cleaned my throttle body in an attempt to fix a low idle issue. That problem has been fixed, but now instead of idling at 700-900 rpms like usual it idles at 1500 rpms. No amount of disconnecting the battery and driving it has relearned the rpms. Currently I am waiting for my shop to get the right CAN connector for the scanner I need. My question is, has anyone else come across this problem? If so, what was the solution? Also, has anyone had a problem with the throttle body or the throttle position sensor going bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check for applicable trouble codes. Some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free.
You may need to clean the throttle body and clean those small passages. With a high idle block off mouth of throttle body, should have a big effect on the idle? There are several issues that could cause idle to act up. Vacuum leak--maf and or map sensor. Don't replace anything unless testing points you in that direction.
Seems like you got a fuel pressure issue.Bogs down in 3rd. .Then idle high and low. Also check the MAP sensor its up along the firewall.Make sure the hose and electrical is connected,
If your idle is too high it can mean a few things with computer controlled engines. Most common problems relate to the sensors in your throttle body being dirty or faulty. If after your disassemble your throttle body and clean the throttle body and sensors you still have the issue you can adjust your idle through the Idle Adjustment Screw.
LOW IDLE CAN BE CAUSED BY MANY THINGS.CLOGGED AIR FILTER. LOW COMPRESSION OR MISFIRE CONDITION.IDLE AIR INLET PASSAGE OR THROTTLE BORE IS DIRTY OR FULL OF DEPOSITS.IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE FAILED.MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR COULD BE OUT OF CALIBRATION. THROTTLE PLATE THROTTLE SHAFT OR LINKAGE IS DAMAGED OR STICKING.PROBABLY HAVE REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE AND THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR.BUY CAN OF CARBURETOR OR THROTTLE BODY CLEANER SPRAY CLEAN ALL CARBON BUILT UP AROUND THROTTLE PLATES AND BORE.LET AIR DRY BUY A NEW THROTTLE BODY GASKET.
YOU HAVE ENGINE VACUUM LEAK.AROUND THROTTLE BODY AREA COULD BE THROTTLE BODY GASKET OR ITS LOOSE.THE IDLE AIR INLET PASSAGE OR THROTTLE BORE IS DIRTY FULL OF CARBON BUILT UP.YOUR IDLE SPEED CONTROL COULD BE FAULTY.
After about 100K + miles the idle air control valve (IAC) begins to collect carbon deposits that interfere with the movement of the spring-loaded valve. You will not be able to clean this without removal and dissembly of the IAC body. Use an emory cloth or fine sandpaper to remove the build up around the valve. This should free it up to rotate without binding. This is a temporary fix, of course, and will either require cleaning again or replacement of the valve. Getting to the IAC requires removal of most of the intake upto, but not including, the intake manifold. Total time is approximately 3-4 hours, but worth it.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
