i have a 2005 lincoln ls v8, my code was on a sticker located under the center of the dash (driver side). i laid down on my back with a flash light and looked behind the radio, you will see several stickers with numbers on them. i wrote down all the number from each sticker then tried them , it worked i found the code. note: the one sticker that my code was on had several numbers in front of it that i had to eliminate ex: 1003(98501), 98501 was the code for my door. it took me 20 min but it was worth it . the dealer wanted $90

It is not in the trunk. It is on the left side, in front of the drivers door, just above the floor mat. Side panel if you want to call it such. What problems are you having? I have the same veh and all the manuals including wiring diagrams.

You will need a OBD2 code reader, that will give you a "trouble code" then that will tell you what direction to look in, for the problem.

changed cop's ,but found out that cop's are NOT firing. what causes cop's to spark/ fire?
Are you saying you replaced all of the ignition coils over the plugs? If so what trouble codes did you have in the Electronic control modules memory to prompt throwing away perfectly good parts?? I guess you must be suffering from tunnel vision on this problem, but listen up! you need to check the trouble codes with a scanner for code reader for the OBD2 control system. Any problem like this will leave a path of trouble/fault codes. In your case I suspect a problem with either the CKP (crankshaft position sensor) or the the camshaft position sensor. Don't waste any more money on parts until you have the codes and have done the appropriate diagnostics. This car has very complicated electronics control systems, and throwing parts at it will just frustrate you and seldom fix the problem. As to what fires the Ignition coils, well that is the electronic engine control module (called the PCM), it gets the information needed to fire the coils from many sensors, the crank and cam sensors are the primary ones. I am a factory trained Ford dealer service technician with 20 years in the field, trust me i do know what i am talking about here.
