It has a new battery, started first or second crank usually. has 100k miles. 454 motor with automatic ****** 4x4. it wouldn't start a couple weeks ago so imoved the steering column shifter back and forth from park to neutral and it seemed to start after that. Then yesterday i tried the same thing and it doesn't start. it cranks fine, just not turn over. i am thinking something with the shift linkage, fuel filter or fuel pump.
does it turn over or does it do nothing at all

was there any problems up till this because its sounds like the shifting forks in your transmission broke if it moves freely i had this problem in my car one time might be a cable snapped loose or could be a clutch problem

Without taking the tilt mechanism off you can only reach 2 of the 3 bolts. If you use 1/4 in. socket on 1/4 in drive with 6 in extension you can just get at the left bolt. If you remove the tilt spring you can get to the bottom bolt. To remoce tilt spring retainer use standard Phillips.
