Left Brake light Globe fuses tazz 2000(New Shape)

Hi, my left brake light globe fuses continuously, afer about a month or 2. Does it matter which way I insert the globe into the globe slot. There are no markings and the globe works when inserted either way. The globes used are those that you push into the light fitting and not the older ones that have the little points on the side. All fuses are correct, and i dont think i have a short because the light works for a few months.

Regards,

Make sure you have the appropriate light bulb and fuse. Otherwise it has to be an intermittant short.

Blowing brake fuse as soon as it touches, the only thing that stops it blowing is pulling a plug from the bcm, not sure if im just pulling power to the bcm or whether theres a bcm fault???

Hi Steve Is this a new fault has it just started to occur for no reason. You need to start with the basics i.e. have you recently replaced any globes? not necessary brake light globes ,If you have re check it make sure its the correct one,(check it against the other side). make sure it's not fitted incorrectly upside down. remove it and try brake lights again. Move onto your brake lights remove eye level globe and brake light globes left and right now try brake lights does it still blow fuse if not check all globes, connections and local brake light wiring for any shafing. Fit each globe one by one if it blows again remove that globe and try the others, Do you have tow bar and electrics fitted Check and make sure wiring in or around the socket has not come adrift and shorting out the brake light circuit. If all the above fails get it inspected by a Dealer or auto electrician, as the fault may be a lot more involved. Preferably a dealer as they will have the correct information on your vehicle. Good luck

Brake light and license plate lights won't work

All lights rely on a good connection between the globe base and the metal body of the car.
This is the cause of your problem.
You'll probably find rust in the globe holder stopping the globe from making a good connection.
You may have to replace the globe holders, but it will be worth trying to clean the rust back to bright steel.

Why wont the brake lights shine when pressing the brake pedal but the tail lights are working on the same bulb

test the brake light switch located at the brake pedal, disconect the switch & bridge the wires, turn ignition on if you have lights its a faulty switch (very common on ford falcons) if not check you have power at that plug, if power check the globes cause you could have blown globes as they are twin filiment globes (1 globe but 2 lights tail & brake) & the brake filiments might be blown.

Left back brake light is not on when brake. but the light bulb is on when turn on the lights at night.

It probably has a globe with dual filaments. One is for the parking light(lights that come on at night) and the other is for the brake. It is common that the brake filament breaks as it is turned on and off regularly when braking (which reduces the lights lifespan). Replacing the globe should solve your problem.

Brake lights work but tail lights won't work with front lights which are needed at night on 2000 Chevy Malibu! When inspected, everything was fine until inspector changed my left tail light. Now tail...

The Tail lights and Instrument lights are usually on the same circuit so both will go out if the fuse for the circuit blows. Check for a blown fuse for this circuit and replace if out. If fuse continues to fail, check the tail light or side globes for a faulty globe and replace if necessary. Also check for any chafed wires that could be shorting to the body causing the fuse to blow.

1997 Ford Light Duty F-250 Problem: Passenger rear brake light / signal light Brake light is intermittent. Signal works most of the time. Emer. flasher is intermittent. Center & left side work fine....

It appears that you may have an intermittent earth connection between the globe sockets and the vehicle body.
First, check how well the metal base of the globe fits into the socket. If it is a bit loose remove the globe, squeeze the sides of the metal socket with some pliers so that the globe fits snugly in the socket. If it is still not working correctly, check the earth wire that runs from the globe socket and any connectors in the wiring loom near the Light Assembly as well as where the earth wire is attached to the body. Remove, clean and re-attach securely if necessary.

My break light works but my tail light does not work what could be the issue?

The brake and tail light globe are two different filiments in the one globe. One can blow but the other one can still work, I suggest that you replace the globe.

No brake lights when depressing the brake pedal

This can be caused by a number of things. You just have to eliminate each one.
Light Globe Replace one with a new one if it works replace both.
Fuse Check fuse in fuse panel under bonnet.
Brake pedal switch Unclip wire connector, check with circuit volt light indicator, Ohm meter or other continuity tester.
Wiring from pedal switch to light globe As above (maybe cut squashed or broken wiring)
Hope this helps
