Take the Mazda straight to a Mazda dealership and they will solve your problem in no time. Or email Mazda corporation and they will email back with the instructions, like I did. We have a 2005 Mazda SP23.
Please see http://www.bluejag.co.uk for more info.
Many earlier cars will have the pre-wiring installed but not the phone option. The easiest way to check is to contact the dealership give them your VIN number and they will tell you. If you have Bluetooth installed. Hold the radio button marked with a phone for about a second, the display will change to indicate xxxxx or 'No Phone'. If the latter is the case then it is most likely that you do not have the option installed
The 2004 X type is before the Bluetooth technology they didn"t start till late 2005, However you can have the wiring harness and module adapted to your 2004 radio for a low cost of about $1,600 dollars from the dealer.
LOOK IN GLOVE COMPARTMENT.FOR THE OWNERS MANUAL.IT WILL TELL YOU HOW TO PROGRAM OR REPROGRAM YOUR RADIO.IF YOU DONT HAVE A OWNERS MANUAL.YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP.THEY PROBABLY CAN PROGRAM IT SO YOU WILL HAVE SOUND.ALSO CHECK FOR A MUTE BUTTON.ON RADIO PRESS IT .YOU COULD ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE MUTE BUTTON AND SILENT RADIO.IF MUTE BUTTON DONT HELP.ITS PROBABLY A DEALERS FIX.I TELL YOU BACK IN 60S 70S 80S YOU COULD GO TO RADIO SHACK BUY PIONEER AND ALPINE RADIO PUT IT IN YOUR CAR.TURN IT ON.DIDNT HAVE TO PROGRAM CODE IT. LIKE THESE NEW RADIO SYSTEM.
the switches in the steering wheel do not have bulbs, the switches have LED which lights up.
so if the lights in the switches are not working you'll need to replace the switches.
Check with chevy a dealership service (phone call) , there are 2 different types if your car is an automatic. If your car is a standard , it could be gear lube , or even Automatic trans fluid.
When I went to the Jaguar dealership the dealer (Farmingtonhills of Michigan Jaguar dealership)told me that only either 2005 or it was 2006 and better are the only autos with this function. I have a 2004 and I wanted to do the same thing. There might be another solution that I did not think of untill I left, asking them if it possible to install a bluetooth package. This might be possible, but for those of us that have a 2005 and lower model they did not come with this feature.
If the software has not been updated for the new type phone it will not pair . Try the device pairing from the radio menu, if this icon is there it is fitted. Range Rovers and Disco 3 have a similar system.
