I have a 2002 jaguar xtype 2.5L and i was on the free way when the cruise not available light came on as well as the check engine light but the my car started overheating....i pulled over turned off the car checked water level and it was full.... So ilet the car cool down and turn it back on everything came off except the check engine light stayed on... So i drive a couple miles and same thing starts to happen.... But its wierd because it only starts to over heat after the cruise not available light comes on...any suggestions thanks

I've had the same problem on my 2001. It turned out to be the battery. Apparently the voltage had dropped to the point that the computer began to malfunction. I'd first go to a battery shop and have it checked under load before looking for other solutions.

discoonect the battery, turn the key 5-6 times to start then re connect battery. This will reset the computer and could reset the fault

PCV hose. I had the same problem...Hear air escaping from mine..I just put some hose tape over mine, and when I got the cruise not available and check engine again, sure enough..tape was coming off...replace the hose..problem solved.

Hi, you will probably find it has it,s own fuse, suggest you check fuse box, it will be a 10amp fuse (red)

If I am understanding your post, I believe you do have a levelling
system and it should be near your light switch on the dash. It is
the type of switch that you depress first, it then springs out and
you turn the small knob (just like your instrument panel lights
adjuster next to it.) What you do not have perhaps, if your car is
not fitted with HIDs (high intensity headlamps), is the automatic
levelling system which is a legal requirement when HIDs are fitted
due to the high power of the lights....

if you don't have a self-levelling system then you'll have a manual
system, operated by a knob under the light switch so that you can
adjust to compensate for a heavy load in the rear of the car.
