head gasket is blown

impreza 98 ej20 turbo automatic / losing power /when u mash d x car moves off slow then u feel like it want to go.// runs very good on first start // when car warms up problem starts // may drive ok sometimes during d day .. all sensors are ok could it b a wiring problen? PLEASE HELP ME

sounds like the rev limiter is kicking in to keep the engine from over rev damage, there should be a way to get the limiter disabled or perhaps get the turbo building boost sooner.

hi that sounds like the idle control sensor or tps throttle position sensor, if the i.c.s is stuffed you wont be able to boost and ur revs will be all over the show going up andown when car isnt moving hope this helps5

not sure here ,really need to have a drive and a play ,but from the sound of it ,turbo ?? rubber hoses split?? in fact anything associated with the turbo i would look at ,including air flow sensors

Check the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler and the intercooler to the inlet manifold, one if the hoses maybe not sealing 100%. let me know.

the EJ20 should have come out of a 02-05 Impreza WRX.

Cold air is more dense, so that makes perfect sense. Also, a turbo compresses the air, which heats it up, so you lose some of the power gains, which is why intercoolers are so common.
