I pulled the codes and check it for anything might have left unpluged an it all seems right accept on the back of the trans there is a plug connecter with nothing plug into it an there are no leads in the area to plug in?

I forget where I read this but if the tranny has been rebuilt they could have put the wrong bolt in the wrong hole. All the bolts are the same size except for one long one. If you put the long one in a short hole it will kill 3rd gear and it may need to be rebuilt.

SOURCE: 1997 Mazda protege transmission, Hard shifting from 1st gear

I would try a flush. If its set up like my 96, and it likely is, changing the trasmission gasket and filter will be difficult. Mine has a medal plug on the bottom and takes an allen wrench, and possibly a breaker bar. If you take out this plug, drain, flush then refill via the dipstick tube and a funnel, it may help. You may need to do this a couple of times due to fluid still in the torque converter, pan, etc.
Lucas is good stuff, I would add it again when I was done. The tranny fluid should be pink, mine looked like used oil black before I flushed it.
Also, when adding the new fluid, shift slowly up and down through all of the gears to lube well and check your fluid levels after 100 miles or so, as sometimes a bubble will form and make it look full....then not after it pops.

Service trans every 2 years or 24,000 miles.Buy a trans filter kit, remove trans oil pan, replace or clean filter(some tranys has a wire mesh screen in them that is cleaned, not replaced),replace oil pan & refill with recommended amount & proper type of fluid.REMEMBER THIS:CLEANLINESS IS GODLINESS WHEN WORKING ON AUTO TRANS,DON'T LEAVE ANY PIECES OF RAGS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL INSIDE OF TRANS!!!

Where is the transmission fluid temperature sensor on a mazda mpv 2001

don't know if your vehicle even has a trans temp sensor. if it did it would be located internally inside the trans pan in valve body. check your trans fluid level, color, and smell. worn trans fluid will cause trans shift issues. burned trans fluid is an indication your clutches are burning and slipping.

Hey my problem 710 ingine code on 2000 mazda mpv

Google the code & read up (OBD PO710) if that is it
I hope you know when you get codes,
that they do not mean you need to replace
a part
Codes only point to the system with the out of
range fault
You need diagnostic manuals to diagnose &
component test,no parts get replaced until they fail
a test.

2000 Mazda MPV Starts & runs won't go out of Park Shifter handle moves won't change gears??

I had this issue in the past. All I did was to replace the brake switch. This part is located behind the brake pedal. Btw, if you this run into this issue again in the future, you can always push this switch with your finger and it's located on top of your steering wheel enclosure, this will disengage the shifter.there is a small rectangle shape cover that you need to remove first.

My 2000 MPV gets stuck in park. The parking gear will not light up to indicate the van is in park. Once the van is running for about 20 mins or more the parking gear light will come on and I am able to...

it sounds like a shift lock solinoid ....this prevents the car from being shifted out of park when ur foot is not on the brake....u will have to bring this to a repair shop since the faulty part is located inside the paneling where ur shifter handle is
