There is a whizzing noise when changing gear Audi a3 55 reg!

Hi its a A3 1.9tdi, and everytime i change gear there is a whizzing noise, i have been told by a tin pot mechanic that its "perfectly normal!" as it is the turbo gate!, as in a dump valve makes a noise the turbo gate makes the same noise, yet when i testdrove a A3, no **** noise!, can anyone help?

when chaning gear it makes a whizzing sound or a air release or wobbling sound. its coming from the front end.

a3 13month old has the same problem ,audi claim its a valve, it goes in to garage next week, to check. this is not normal as far as im concerned

If its only when you put your foot on the clutch it could be a release bearing fault,does it do it when you are not moving and put your foot on the clutch(engine running of course)

Hi ive got a vw polo r reg on starting it makes a rattling noise when the clutch isnt depressed also going through the gears from 3rd upwards it doesent make the noise when you need to make gear change it...

you need to replace the whole clutch assembly(comes in a kit) quickfit are the most reliable if you cannot do it yourself

Did you change the transmission filter? Sounds like no Front pump pressure. dirty filter will cause cavitation of the pump and damage to pump. Damage to cutch packs will occur too. Do not run until investigating filter, make sure o ring or grommet in valve body is present for filter

Whining noise while accelerating in 1st gear

Check the idler and tensioner pullys for your serpentine belt. I suspect the whining noise heard earlier was due to the fact one was getting a bit stiff or rough turning. When you gave it that extra fuel, the sudden load may have finished it off. Sometimes they lock up, and sometimes they fall apart. Check those items first.

I can?t select the gears R or D after I start the car

does it make a grinding noise wen you change gears? if you cant change gears your gearbox is wrecked you may have to replace it which is costly

When driving my audi a4 sedan, as i accelerate a humming noise begins at 40km and continues as i drive, getting louder as you go. no vibration, just humming.

Does the humming noise only occur in a certain gear(s)? does it go away whilst changing gear or cornering?
