My car is misfiring and sometimes not starting due to this problem. It misfires on Idle too. The Air filter has been changed and its had an electronic diagnostic check that just showed reduced pressure. The Engine keeps coming on and going off. Sometimes the misfire is worse than others. Any Ideas ?

be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it

Hello trish...you must have a really fancy code scanner because i have never had one tell me that...lol
When you say "mass air flow filter" i assume you mean mass air flow sensor (MAF)? If your check engine light is "flashing" it's telling you there is a more serious problem to be dealt with and you should have it repaired now to prevent additional faults..and possibly costly repairs in the near future.
On your landrover the scanner should read "Manufactured Control Fuel and Air Metering" fault if it's a MAF sensor fault. This fault does NOT always mean the sensor is bad, in most cases the sensor is fine and is doing it's job by reporting to the computer a problem it has detected...
The MAF tells the computer how much air and the temp of the air that the engine is getting.
Then using those readings and the readings from your oxygen sensors and the gear your in, engine speed, engine temp, and the list goes on and on the computer gives the engine the correct amount of fuel for the load it's under.
There are ALOT of variables and if one or more is out of sync it screws everything up...it's like a domino effect..are you with me still?
...After you replaced the sensor...did you rescan the landrover and clear the codes...because if you didn't...the computer still has it stored and nothing has changed? let me know what you find on the next diagnostic scan...that blinking light is not good.
Good luck..i hope this helps ya...please take time to rate me a fixya...
PS: make sure the gas cap is secured properly.

First off what you want to do is see if the coil is keeping fire to the cylinders. If so is the fire blue or redish/orange. If it is blue then its not a firing issue. If it is red then you probally need a new coil. Now if you chose option A then check the spark plugs and make sure they aren't fouled out. The way to determin this is that they will be black and smell like gas really bad.If not then check the spark plug wires and make sure they are not ripped, broken, cracked, or show any signs of failure, If not then make sure it is getting plenty of gas. If not then it is either the fuel pump or the fuel filter. If it is a fuel injected engine then make sure the injectors are all working properly. To do this you will probally have to bring it into a shop and have them check. If it is a carberated engine then manually chock the carberatur by holding the top flutter valve closed for a second or two. If the flutter valve gets covered in gas real quickly (in less than 2 seconds) then it should not be a problem with the carburator. If you are still haveing problems with it after checking all of this then give me a shout back and i will see what i can do.
