SOURCE: Replacing 2 belts on a 2000 Mazda Protege

I recommend that you go to any Auto Parts store and by a repair user manual for your 2000 Mazda Protege.  They have pictures and arrows and stuff that you will need to do the whole job.  The non-Mazda version will cost approximately $15.00.
Because of the tensioner that may come off when while you are doing these belt changes, it is too complicated to talk you through this.
But with the manual, I am confident you can change them.

Steering seized after battery light came on. COULDN'T STEER. VERY scary.

Your steering did NOT seize. Power steering is run from a belt. If the belt breaks and the belt powers the pump and the alternator, you lose power steering and the battery light comes on. You still had steering. What you lost was power assist. You can still turn the wheels, it's just much harder to turn. Get the belt replaced and you should be back in business.

Does a 2008 Hyundai Accent have a power steering cylinder? The alternator and AC belt broke, the power steering is not working now and it's making a grinding noise, what can be the problem.

Are you sure you have the right belt, the right length and fitted correctly around all pulleys, because you stated the alternator and AC belt broke, the same belt runs the power steering pump!!

Driving my 92 525i bmw on freeway when it all broke loose my Power Steering and then all the lights on dash when on. Also the car over heated. What could have happen?

Serpentine belt broke. A serpentine belt drive runs everything: power steering, ac, alternator (electrical power), and the water pump (explains the overheating). I'd bet anything that your belt broke.

Is there a power steering belt that could have broke if everything was working fine and just all of a sudden had no power steering?

well you could open the hood and look. a broken belt usually makes quite a flopping racket when it goes. today's cars usually have a serpentine belt which runs the power steering, the alternator, and the air conditioning pump so when the belt breaks you hear the noise, the steering gets hard, and the alternator light comes on. a few cars however have separate belts. open the hood and take a look. will look like a black belt laying in there.

The power steering belt is broke on a kia sportage 2001 is it very expensive to fix..

I would replace it yourself....very simple to do! The belt is $13.00 Power Steering Pump Belt
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the A/C and alternator drive belts for access.
  3. Loosen mounting lock bolt (A) and mounting bolt (B).
  4. With tension released removed the belt.
To install:
  1. Properly route drive belt around the pulleys.
  2. Carefully pry on the power steering pump using a suitable lever. Adjust belt tension is 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm) when measured at deflection point shown.
  3. Retighten bolts (A) and (B) to 31 ft. lbs. (42 Nm).
  4. Reinstall the A/C and alternator drive belts.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

When my serpentine belt broke three times the problem was diagnosed as the power steering pump. Why wasn't this diagnosed when the tensioner was replaced. I am now replacing the power steering pump and...

That is a valid question, but you should ask the shop that worked on it. Also do you know that the power steering pump will cure the problem? This remains to be seen....You can check one thing though...Look at the belt/pulley arrangement from the side. any pulley that is not exactly in line with all others, and any wobbling pulley is suspect. Serpentine belts are far less forgiving of these items than were "v" belts.
Good luck
