1995 nissan altima headlight issues

I changed the bulbs on my '95 altima, but the clips that are supposed to secure the bulbs in place will not snap back into place. As a result, the headlights are seated in the socket correctly as best I can tell, but the clips are only being held in place by the rubber gasket and large plastic housing ring. Is there some sort of trick to getting those locking pins to snap correctly? I sure as hell couldn't get them to snap.

Is this what you have? Does the locking ring screw on or does it snap? Do you see a tab or anything that might have broken off? Can you compare locking rings from one side to the other? Or maybe try a locking ring from the other side for testing? My biggest problem is I can't see anything from here.

you have to remove the bulbs from inside of the hood in the engine compartment. in some cars you have to remove some "pins' and remove the entire headlight assembly.. You then remove the holder where the lightbulb is located and replace the bulb.

obviously you have problem with wiring. if driverside works check withh a test light for power and ground. connect ur light to battery and test.if yuo have problem use the wiring from driverside to repair.

This was not real easy, sorry. This is one of those jobs that smaller hands are best equipped to do. The Driver's side light is pretty easy and striaght forward because you can manuveur it. The passengerside lite allows about 1/3 the room to work.

I sprayed some silicone on the ring, as there was some road grime in there. I found it hard to get the bulb in without sctratching it too. I did get it in and threaded, and I did get a pseudo "click" or lock out of it, so it can be done with a little frustration.

To me the most amazing part was whe I turned on the lights-- they were aimed correctly! Good luck with this. You may just have the ring crossed threaded a tad bit-- and given the angle you are looking at -- you would never know

My lo beam headlights are out. I changed the fuses but still out. The high beams are good. Any answers? 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5l

I think that the bulbs have double filaments & in my experience it not uncommon for for only one filement to blow out so, have you tried changing the bulb ?

Where are my headlight adjustment screws on my 2007 nissan altima?

The entire headlight buckets are easily removed from the top of the engine compartment. Nylon clips and or screws hold them in place. Don't mess with the headlight adjusting screws.The whole assembly comes out and the bulbs turn out by twisting them an eighth of a turn. Be careful not to touch the new bulbs with your hands. Dab on a little silicone ignition grease on the contact points before forcing the new bulbs back in the sockets. Use a paper towel to insert them in the sockets. Grease and or oil from your hands will cause the new bulbs to over heat and break.

Changing the passenger side headlamp on altma

Open the hood. Locate the two 10 mm coolant reservoir retaining bolts on the passenger side of the vehicle and then remove them using the ratchet and socket.
Remove the 10 mm bracket retaining bolt using the ratchet and socket. Remove the bracket.
Position the coolant reservoir out of the way to gain access to backside of the headlight assembly.
Turn the large plastic headlight cover counterclockwise to remove it from the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the cover.
Disconnect the wire harness clips from the headlight blades by pulling them off.
Press in and then upward on the headlight retaining ring holding the headlight bulb in place. Remove the bulb.
Align the new composite headlight into place without touching the glass bulb. Skin oils will greatly reduce and compromise the longevity of a halogen composite headlight.
Refasten the retaining ring to secure the headlight into the headlight assembly. Plug the wire harness onto the blade of the headlight and test for function. Reassemble the remaining components by reversing the procedure.

How do I change the bulb in the driver's headlight of my 95 Toyota 4Runner?

You must remove the four screws that hold in the side marker lenses (two per side/lens) pull the lens forward & out to the side. Next remove the grille, to do this you need to push in both top & bottom of the plastic clips that hold it in place. These clips usually break since they are old (1995) & made of plastic. Each clip costs $1.99 from the Toyota dealership (for .02 cents worth of plastic!) you will probably need a few even though they are way overpriced. Then once the grille is removed you can remove the four bolts that hold the lens assembly in place, once it is removed you unplug the bulb & then unscrew the plastic retaining ring that holds the bulb in place & remove the bulb from the housing. Installation is the reverse of removal - BEWARE; do not touch the glass of the bulb, oil from your skin will cause hot spots on the glass & lead to premature failure of the bulb. If you do happen to touch it, clean the bulb with alcohol prior to assembly.

Method #2; remove the air box on the drivers side (behind the headlight & you can remove the bulb from the back. On the passenger side, remove the battery & the washer fluid reservoir & you can remove it from the back also. Either method is time consuming & an unusually bad hassle for something as routine as changing a headlight.

How do I change the passenger side headlight bulb on 2001 Altima

Open up the hood, and go in behind the fixture where the light is located. Sometimes there is an access panel on top. Open it and reach down inside and grab the bulb’s socket. Twist the socket a quarter turn counter clockwise, and pull out the socket. Grab the bulb, and pull it straight out. To replace the new bulb, never touch it with your bare fingers, as this will greatly shorten the bulb's life, if it even work's at all. Use a tissue or something else in that order to handle the new bulb. Push the new bulb into the socket, put the socket back into the housing, and twist a quarter turn clockwise to secure the socket into the fix.Seems that you have to remove the coolant bottle(two screws), and also the unscrew the washer fluid bottle, after that you can reach the socket that holds the bulb. There is a wire that holds the bulb in. if you loosen the screw you can tip up the wire and be careful to leave it in place...also the long side of the wire seems to connect to ground wire for the light...

No low beam head lights

If you just want to replace the bulb yourself, this is a good website.

If the website does't get your headlight fixed... You might have a blown fuse. It could be in the IPDM E/R location under the hood. This is next to the coolant bottle. Remove the coolant bottle with two screws and lift the cover to the IPDM E/R. Just set the coolant bottle aside for now. The low beam fuses are 49 and 50. They are 15A fuses. To be more precise, they are located on row 2, columns 2 and 3 (column 1 being closest to the fender of the car). Hope this helps.
