2000 grand am gt. Check engine light is off but the Service engine soon light is on. There are no error codes. I have already changed the oil and reset the oil light.

Service engine soon ? Do you mean SERVICE VEHICLE SOON Indicator
The amber SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator is an alert to the driver whenever there are specific current codes stored in the BCM or in the event of a loss of Class 2 serial data.

If your vehicle has a check engine light ,it doesn't have service engine soon .One or the other .

How to clear service vehichle soon light no codes

You need to hook up a scanner to the car and clear the code. They make cheap one if you do not have one. You can try to remove the battery cables for about 15 minutes and see if that will reset it but most times you need a scanner to reset the trouble codes. Good Luck

Service engine soon light

Yes, it means it needs its routine periodic service. Not performing maintenance will inevitably lead to more expense.

Service vehichle soon in the information center

I have had the same problem with my 96 aurora. I have a scan tool, but when this happened no codes were shown. My scan tool does not show codes for the Anti-Lock Brake system, or the Air Conditioner system. So, if your ABS light is on, its a problem with the ABS system, if not then there is a problem with the A/C system (which was my problem). There was a pressure sensor on the A/C system that was faulty (on the firewall up top in one of the A/C lines) The part was cheap around $15, but the system will **** out all the coolent as soon as the sensor is loosened or removed, so it should be drained, then have the sensor replaced and probably change the oil in the system at the same time so you dont end up with your A/C compressor succumbing to Black Death. Good luck, i hope this helps.
