This morning it was snowy. Every time I put it in the auto 4 wheel the light would blink awhile and then it would go back to 2 wheel. (I don't think it was ever in 4 wheel) Does anybody know about this? This morning it was snowy. Vacuum lines my friend. There is one under the battery that pulls a cable to lock the front differentials in. But also check to make sure each line is getting vacuum.
I have tried 4 wheel high both ways and low 4 wheel sitting still, I can hear what sounds like the rear gear box locking in low but I dont hear the front, and again the auto 4 wheel drive the 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low just blink.
Are you setting still or driving when ingaugeing the 4 wheel drive if you are setting still try putting it in with vehicle moving if it does not light up steady in 4wd then it is not going in 4wd

Could be 2 or 3 different things. Find the Trouble Code by Grounding out the 13th point in the plug, where the analizer (under the dash) would plug in. Turn the key on but don't start the engine. Count the blinks of the 4 wheel drive lights. 4 total blinks or 3,2,1. Each blink tells you where the problem is located: Switch, control modem, shift motor, or wiring. Ask your Chevy garage for the code information out of manual. GOD BLESS & GOOD LUCK....
you will know if you are in 4wd if you take it on a dry road. you will feel it fighting you when you turn sharp.. as for the blinking lights . that's your truck saying..........please take me in for some servise
it sounds to me like the motor that switches the transfer case into 4 wheel drive DO NOT try to put it in 4 wheel. There should be no problem driving it as it is but if you continue to try it may get stuck in between and cause major problems
some time if you drive in reverse a couple feetit will go off if your sure you have it back in 2 wheel drive or if your is like mine it will be off next time you drive it
take the four wheel drive actuator out of the front differential let it hang while still plugged in and have somebody watch and see if it retracts when the 4 whell drive is switched from 2 to 4 whell drive. If not then accuator is probably bad.
Hi, you will need to take it to mitsubishi dealer and have them scan. But it sounds like o ring in 4 wheel drive has busted. Does it still go in and out of 2 and 4 wheel drive? If it does it is safe to drive with blinking...if not it may do alot of damage.
I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty I had the same, there's a switch underneath the vehicle for the cable near the 4 wheel drive shaft, I had a transmission shop replace mine and that took care of the problem, I think the total cost was about $120.00 but that included labor.
I had this problem on my 1995 Montero. The 4-wheel-drive indicator lights wouldn't stop blinking when I switched from 4-wheel drive to 2-wheel drive. It turns out that I had a slow leak in one of the front tires. After I fixed the leak and made sure the pressure was the same in both front tires, the problem went away.
This made sense to me because if one tire is much lower in pressure, it's closer to the ground, i.e. has a smaller radius, and therefore rotates more quickly. The manual says to drive in a straight line when disengaging 4-wheel drive but with the lower tire pressure on one side it was the equivalent of driving in a circle.
You could try checking your tire pressures and see if that makes a difference. Hope this helps.
