SOURCE: overdrive transmission

O/D light flashing is computer indicating an issue with the transmission -no surprise. Make sure the transmission fluid is still good (dosn't smell burnt, right level). Slipping could be the TCC (torque Converter clutch) - not a cheap part - but would only really slip in 4th gear (above 40 mph). Slipping before that could be numerous things in the trans (low fluid pressure, torque converter issues).
I would be tempted to replace the fluid anyhow, but there is a chance an expensive issue is starting to arise - and replacing the fluid on a failing transmission could cause it to fail 100% (or can fix it nearly 100%). These can be touchy transmissions, too much DIY without the right diagnostic tools can be bad. Not what you wanted to hear, and not an expert, but have had some expertise with these.hope that helps.

SOURCE: 2001 mazda protege will not start

well, with all that you have changed the only two possible things that are left PCM and the ECM....

Do you have an alarm system on this vehicle? If you purchased this car second hand it may have something that is inhibiting the engine from firing. From what you have told us here that would be where I would start looking.

I really hope this is helpfull

SOURCE: Mazda Tribute Intermittent Starting problem

I can think of 2 possibles,it could be a bad battery cable or an intermitent short in the starter solenoid, check or have the battery cables and there connections on both ends first not only are they a cheaper fix but the problem you describe sounds like a current flow issue.Test them with or have them tested with an ohmmeter they should show o ohms resistance, and while not attributed to the problem I do not reccomend using Bosch spark plugs of any variety, the best plugs for any Japanese vehicle are NGK's,this comes from my personal experience with them and other techs that I have worked with.

2002 mazda proteget vibrates when in reverse idles fine fine in drive

Check you motor mounts. With someone in the car and e-brake and main brake applied; Put vehicle in drive and bring RPMS UP and then let off. If you see the motor move excessively then the mount is broken on the side that lifts up. Put it in reverse and do the same. both mounts can be broken and there is usually a third mount so check them all.

Obd2 code p0300 on mazda protege 2002

Just had one of these with a maxima, the code is multiple random misfire, when a misfire occurs, to start is do the basics, replace the plugs, check fuel pressure, clean throttle body, and coolant is topped up. also I have seen if the O2 sensor is not working correctly is can cause a misfire, you will need a scan tool to look at what the O2 sensor is doing, o rby back probing the sensor (don't damage the O2 sensor wires). If it wires replace them as well, if it has coils they usually dont give that code if one fails, it will pinpoint that a certain coil if one fals.

Wire diagram for the mazda protege stereo what

Sometimes if its the factory harness, you can see fine print on the wires telling what each wire is for. If not, remember, red is hot, black is ground, and your smaller wires all colored purple, brown, gray, green, orange, blue..there will be two of each color, one with a black stripe, that is your ground for the speaker hook up..There also might be a yellow or light blue wire, test that wire for power when the key is off, that is your memory power supply.good luck.

BRAKES ON FRONT 2002 PROTEGE 5 MAZDA

When I change my front brakes, I use a "C" clamp to slowly push the piston back in. (You can get them for a few dollars at Wal-Mart, etc.) Make sure you open the brake fluid reservoir while compressing them, as the fluid level will rise; but don't leave the reservoir open too long, as brake fluid will absorb water from the air.
For the parking brake, I'm not sure. I think the parking brake often works off of the rear brakes, so changing the pads should have helped there. Maybe air in the lines? Do you have any trouble with "soft" or "mushy" brakes when you use them? If so, you might want to bleed the system, to get any air out - it can be dangerous.
