It means that your air-bag light flashes 1 time then stops then flashes 9 times. you probably have a lose connection somewhere

SOURCE: Airbag error code 24. What does it mean?

Common fault on FORD
Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.
Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag fault

First you should check the plug in connections under both seats if they are pluged in then check crash sensor on front bumper behind grill good luck

Well I can't find flash code 74 for a 2002 expedition. But looking up the code from Ford it says:
Intermittent Or Rewired Driver's Airbag Module Circuit Low Resistance Or Shorted

Maybe double check the flash code to make sure.

WHY IS MY AIRBAG LIGHT ON ON MY TRUCK

Hi,

This airbag light thing is pretty common in Fords. I had a 2002 Ford Escape XLS, but had the exact same problem mentioned above.
Here is my solution, What I did, is disconnect the airbag plug that is located underneath the driver's seat. Clean the electrical prongs with a dry toothbrush or any bristle brush. After reconnecting, the light should not come on anymore. I didn't have any problems for about 6 months, that's when the blinking airbag light came back. I disconnected the plug again and cleaned it once again. This time I bent the metal prongs just a tad bit and then reconnected them again. I think the prongs don't get very much contact, so bending just a bit should help that. This time the light never came back on.

it's most likely an error code in your airbag system. Unfortunately, this means a trip to a dealership.
