When i turn the ignition to start the motor it engages everything as normal but as i turn it to the last stage the starter stage i hear the starter relay? click over and then it starts making a sort of humming of buzzing but not turning the motor.with no clicking like what you would hear when the battery is dying\bad.
SOURCE: lights come on radio works, car will not start. When I turn the ignition on it clicks
Check and clean the battery terminals, just went through this exact same problem myself this week! Google "clean battery terminals" if you have never done this before, pretty easy.

Hi firstly when you try to start the car do the lights dim then, when you release the key they go bright again,
If they do your starter is either stuck or the solenoid on the top of it has packed up.
Firstly look around the bottom area of the engine where it joins to the gearbox.
The starter should look like a long tubed shaped unit with at least a few heavy wires coming from it (the same as attached to the battery.
Once you have found it tap it with something non metal so as not to short it out but free it.
Try the starter again to see has that made it work.
Either way if it goes or does not go you will need to get the starter repairer by a car starter repair chap or get a good second hand one from a breakers yard off the same model as yours.
Make sure before the starter is removed that the battery is disconnected so as to avoid the battery being shorted when the wires are removed from the starter.
SOURCE: new starter good batt. only clicks wont turn over 1995 montero
The Batt does not have a full charge or it is the wrong cranking AMP's for the car... find out if it is the right Batt and also that it is put on a "slow charge" over night or at least 6 hr's

Check and clean the ground on your battery cable. Also charge battery even if is new. Starters use all the amperage a fully charged battery produces to turn that starter. Make surecables are clean and tight :)
SOURCE: wont start
The clicking noise is most likely the starter silinoid engaging but not enough electricity to turn the engine. Unfortunately, when one of those 3 goes bad it causes the other 2 to have excessive wear on them and soon they go bad. Battery goes bad (wont hold a charge) the alternator is constantly running trying to charge the battery and from repeated starting attempts, the starter dies soon after. I one of the 3 goes out and the other 2 are not checked to make sure no damage has happened to them, they soon fail. Test all 3 to find out which one is bad now
