My H2 05 Hummer was weak and will not start the engine. I tried to boost it from a running 12V battery and it drained my Hummer battery. Any advice PLEASE!

My hummer battery was drained while trying to boost it from a running truck. I think it still may have some power in it. I don't know why it drained, but I noticed that when I tried to open the hood through the internal lever, it was soft and didin't trigger the hood to open. Is there any other system that if on could drain the battery resource? Do I have to buy a new Battery? How could I boost the H2 Battery? Please HELP.

Pull the battery out and have it load tested, sounds like the battery was on its way out to start with.

SOURCE: 2009 Hummer h3 won't start

My H3 didn't start this morning. I noticed something unusual about my truck when I first tried. The alarm had a weak sound when it went off. The fact that it turned over but didn't start made me believe it was not the battery. I was trying to call the mechanic and a wrecker to get my H3 fixed. However, before that I got the wrecker out there, I went to Autozone. He told me it sounded like the battery and cold weather kills the battery. So 3 hours have passed and temperatures warmed up to a cool 56 degrees. I was going to put jumper cables but out of curiousity, I said well let me crank it and see if it was cold weather. Sure enough, it cranked right up.

Either way, I am going to take it to Autozone and have the battery checked. I can't miss another day of work due to an old battery.

SOURCE: 2004 Hummer H2 leaking water on passenger floor

never worked on a hummer but rule of the day is that there always is a drain on the firewall on the engine side. usually a small rubber hose about two inches long direced downward. Usually you can stick your finger in there and clear it out. Don't shove anything hard into it or you can punch a hole in the evaporator core.

Why am I unable to boost start my car?

The usual reason why we boost start a car is because the car battery is getting weak and it cannot provide sufficient power anymore to run things. It will need an extra help like a booster battery. But sometimes the host battery was so down in energy that it tends to drain the boost battry fast enough and a little will be left to provide your needed start. If the host battery is just weak (not yet bad cell condition) just give it sometime for the booster to resuscitate the host battery, before you start cranking. Off course, we cannot just rule out the cables and the starter motor, the fusibles, terminals, and the charged state of the booster battery itself. ?

Battery light stays on after key is removed on hummer h2

Check the battery has good charge, should be over 12v with engine off and 13-15v when running.
If it's not holding a charge correctly it will cause light to come on as low power.
There may be something shorted too, keep your eye on power levels with a tester....when you switch off, check....then check again next day "before" you start engine. Look for drop below 12v.

I boosted my hummer he with the key on,now my altornator light on,wen i take the battare cable off it dies,is the a fuse or did i burn a line to the starter?

the alternator stator is fried along with other internal parts since jumping the vehicle. Always disconnect the alternator when jump starting. That is why it dies out. Replace battery and alternator to run correctly

I boosted a 06 hummer h3,now the alternator lights on,but i had the key on when i hocked it up.when i pull the battery cables off the truck dies

The alternator is probably the reason you had to boost it. It probably died and running the engine ran the battery down. These can be checked at the parts store before you purchase another one.

Car will start but won't stay started tried to boost battery, but would not stay running

It is not a battery. If a battery is weak it would not crank up. It didn't stay running since it did not have enough fuel in line. Either fuel filter is dirty or fuel pump is weak. Check these item out. Replace the low cost first.
