How long has it been since the thermostat has been changed.is the cooling fans working at the radiator if not you could have a bad fan motor or a cooling fan relay.it could even be a bad sensor that the computer monitors to turn on and off the cooling fan.this is a different sensor than the one that works the coolant gage or light on the dash.

If you have change the radiator , then check the thermostat for its temperature while running . then try to change the engine oil it could be one of the reasons that your car is having a overheat problem.

What temperature readings do you get exactly?.
You can check if your fans are working by switching on the Air conditioning, the fans should be running all the time if the air con is on.
The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line. It's job is to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank, this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.

check coolant levels ( ck leakage if any ) and radiator fan operation. Fans should go on automatically when appropriate temps are reached. They also should go on IMMEDIATELY when A/C climate is put on AUTO. Hope this helps

Also note that the cooling fans don't come on until the temp hits around 225 degrees.
During normal highway driving the fans will very rarely come on(if at all) due to constant air flow through the radiator. They will only usually come on in heavy traffic conditions on a hot day.
But......if you have the Air Con switched on, the fans will run all of the time.

fans not working, radiator clogged, water pump bad, hose collapsed. have the whole system back flushed. make sure the mechanic understands that you want the system back flushed and not just the radiator if you want to do it yourself and make sure it's done right, here's some directio.
