Replace the tone ring on a frant wheel drive
SOURCE: how to change a tone
The tone ring on the front is part of the CV drive-shaft (also called the halfshaft) and can only be changed by replacing the entire shaft. If you are unfamiliar with replacing drive-train and suspension components, it is best not attempted without experienced help.
The tone ring on the rear of a front wheel drive model can be replaced by removing the rear wheel hub, but on all wheel drive models, front and rear tone rings are similarly integral to the shaft.
It is unlikely that a broken tone ring would be the cause of what one might assume, in this case, is an anti-lock braking problem. Most likely causes are usually associated with the sensors that count the reluctor teeth on the spinning tone ring, or the control module(s) that process the sensor inputs and translate them into the ABS HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit) functions.
If that is the case, please refer this to a licensed technician. This is pretty much the only way we have of earning our income.
