I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. On acceleration, there is a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust and it is burning oil at an alarming rate. We have also seen other Montero Sports spewing smoke out of the exhaust upon acceleration. Is this a problem with Valve Seals?
Where can I get an engine service manual for this vehicle. None available on Chilton or Haynes.

Oil is leaking from engine seal gasket into my alternator and disabling it, and requiring rebuilt alternator. What are my options and the approximate cost of repair? The replacement alternator lasted just 400 miles.

Check your valve cover an your oil pan bolts to make sure they are not loose.if that fails, steam clean engine so you can see where oil may be leaking from.

If it is leaking at the oil filter the previous rubber gasket may have stuck to the block. When the new oil filter was installed then the gasket was doubled and will leak.

My 1998 Crown Victoria had steamed the passenger side windshield, digital thermostat never indicated that the engine was hot, i smell antifreeze, water leaking inside passenger side by glove box and a

It sure sounds like the heater core, especially if you have water leaking inside the cabin. The two heater hoses only go from the engine to the firewall, and do not go into or through the firewall. They connect to the heater core right at the firewall.
Check carefully around the back side of the engine and the heater hoses, though. If a freeze plug is leaking, water will be dripping off the bottom of the engine. If it is leaking before the firewall, that would not be the heater core.

I just changed the oil pan gasket on my 1998 Lincoln Navigator. It still leaks oil when running. The leak looks like it's coming from the top of the front 2nd bolt on the passenger side of the oil pan....

You might want check and see if the valve cover gasket on that side is leaking and making its way down there. It could also be coming from the rear of the intake manifold. You are going to need an inspection mirror and a flash light to see every where.

CANT TELL WHERE RADIATOR FLUID IS COMMING FROM DRIPS OFF HEAT SHELD AROUND EXAUST NEXT TO OIL PAN AND TRANSMISSION ON PASSENGER SIDE ANY SUGESTIONS?

Take a look under the truck near the rear of the passenger side cylinder head, these units are bad for leaking head gaskets on the right rear head. If that is dry, then the drain for the heater core is also near there. But if you don't smell anti freeze in the cabin when the heater is on then it is most likely the head gasket. Hope this helps. Oil leak passenger side 300 turbo sedan, some on front passenger side wheel. Never lost oil pressure, but dipstick showed very little oil in crankcase on immediate after-run check. Have not started...

Add about 2.5-quarts of new engine oil to the engine.
Remove the passenger-side wheel, and support the car on jack-stands.
Start the engine and look for oil leak.
Chances are leaks are coming from failed oil-pan gasket or the drain-plug.
The head-cover gasket could be failing as well..

if you dont see antifreeze leaking anywhere, its the head gasket, check your oil dipstck, the antifreeze is probally mixxing with the oil as it leaks thru the gasket and will give the oil a milky white color on the dipstick,if you start to see white smoke from the exaust then its leaking into your exaust port, either way head gasket and change as soon as possible, you dont want it in the oil cause you can seize the motor
