Shifting solenoids on 2002 Lancer.

How to replace shifting solenoids on the transmission of 2002 lancer? The transmission only engages i reverse gear and none of the forward ones.

That's too bad that your transmission won't engage unless you're using the reverse gear. My own transmission won't go above second gear, and it's a rather big problem. We should probably both find somewhere to get ours repaired to make sure the problem gets fixed. http://www.northgatetransmissions.com/au...

hi it sounds like a solinoid shift problem you need to check them out individually to see which one is the culprit as it is unlikley it will be more than one if they are all ok then you have a wiring problem that will need to be traced back till you find the break yates210456

Have you Had the transmission fluid checked? It sounds as if the transmission is slipping in these gears which would point to a fault within the bands. To have a problem like this repaired could cost as little as $200 or as much as $1700 depending on how much needs to be done. Was the replacement a second hand transmission? If yes then did you have a warranty period with it? Let me know and I will get back to you as i am about to seek out a manual for this.

Most cars you top up the trans fluid through the stem that the dip stick for the transmission goes into.

hope this is helpful.

On an 02 Chevy Trailblazer what would make it stop taking gear no reverse no drive no nothing

There are a few potential causes for this issue in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, including:
  1. Transmission issues: The transmission may be damaged or malfunctioning, causing it to not shift into gear. If this is the case, it will likely require professional repairs or a replacement.
  2. Shift solenoid failure: The shift solenoids control the movement of fluid in the transmission, and a failure of one or more of these solenoids can cause shifting problems, including not being able to engage any gears.
  3. Electrical issues: The transmission may not be receiving the correct electrical signals from the transmission control module or other components, which can cause shifting problems. This could be due to a problem with the wiring, connections, or other electrical components.
  4. Low fluid levels: If the transmission fluid is low, this can cause shifting problems, so it is a good idea to check the fluid levels and add more if necessary.
  5. Clutch or pressure plate problems: If the clutch or pressure plate is damaged or worn, this can cause shifting problems, including not being able to engage any gears.
If you have checked the linkages and fuses, and are still experiencing the issue, it is recommended that you have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic to diagnose and repair the problem.

What are codes P0733 and P0736 indicating on a 2002 Jeep Liberty?

Codes P0733 and P0736 on a 2002 Jeep Liberty refer to transmission-related issues. Here's what each code indicates: P0733 - Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the third gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the third gear is engaged. This could be caused by issues such as a faulty transmission solenoid, a worn or damaged gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission problems. P0736 - Reverse Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the reverse gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the reverse gear is engaged. Possible causes could include a faulty transmission solenoid, a damaged or worn reverse gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission issues.

I was looking at buying a 2002 lancer the only problem is that they are saying it needs a solenoid for the transmission.

buyer be ware of sellers comments as to the fault
have them take you to autozone or some other service that can read the fault codes and find out exactly what is the solenoid/servo that is the problem
Advice is to pay the absolute minimum as you will have to pay for the repairs or walk on by to a better deal
