I have posted this solution before, I will give you the short version. On the steering column, under the left side of the cowling, on the opposite side directly across from where the key goes in the ignition,... there is a wire loom screwed to that end with 2 screws, remove this and clean the inside of both sides CAREFULLY, dont break anything. expensive dealer part! just scrape it lightly and wipe a little, carefully re assemble, dont bend it, dont screw it back in too tight, you cant make it go together any closer than it will. This solution solves a number of odd problems attributed to ACURA quitting , battery not charging, lights flickering turn signals not working, a lot of things, so i think everyone should do this to there ACURA, and its EASY!
SOURCE: Replaced fuel pump on 97 acura tl. car still won't start
you need to have the fuel pressure checked at the engine and then check the line for flow

Start with the easy one (hopefully). You probably have to replace your turn signal flasher. It's located behind the dash, driver side of steering column in the relay block (just pull out to remove).
Your overheating problem: Are you losing coolant, or is the car just running hot? Any leaks, puddles?
Check the cooling fans to make sure they are kicking on as the engine temp rises. If not, you may have a bad switch that is not telling the fan to go on. If fan(s) are operating ok, check the thermostat. If it isn't opening properly, it could be the cause of the overheating. If you have a leak in the system, then when it gets too low, it starts to overheat. Many possibilities, So, let me know the answers to the above so I can help further if needed.
SOURCE: 99 Acura TL dies when I try to start
I have helped many Honda/Acura owners on this issue. Many mechanics will replace many parts prior to solving this problem, which then creates unnecessary repairs and spending. So here is my diagnosis: Notice if your speedometer drops to zero when your engine dies while driving. If this happens its your ignition switch failing. Ignition switches in Honda/Acura vehicles years 97-02 encounter faulty or shorted internal contacts. This causes premateur electrical failure to vital engine electrical parts, causing vehicle to stall intermittedly. A recall has been in place since 2002, approximately 1.3mil vehicles are affected, call your local honda/acura dealer for info and possible free repair or replace the ignition switch yourself. Hopefully my info helps you!!
